Thanks for posting...no Slammers-Cruz? Looks like just about all the other top teams are there...should be fun!
Strikers have to be the big favorite...my picks, Bracket A: Socal Blues Rennie; Bracket B: Strikers; Bracket C: Surf EGSL; with the wildcard to EDA, Eagles, or LAGSD.
What about Legends-West? It looks like they haven't lost all summer...15 wins & 1 tie.
Impressive number of wins, look forward to seeing them play. They did lose twice in the Cerritos Challenge Cup, once to SC Blues Rennie and once to CDA Slammers.
The algorithm may be a little harsh on them because other than Blues and Slammers, it looks like they have played some weaker teams, Bracket A looks like it will come down to their game vs. Blues. And there are not a ton of games so the algorithm does some wonky things like ranking SDSC above Surf.
The difference in strength numbers tells you how many more goals better one team is than another. Due to small sample sizes early in the season there will be a few strange rankings. As more games are played things will look more normal. Teams improve their ranking by winning by more than the expected goal differential or losing by less than the expected differential (basically doing better than expected). Teams move down in the rankings by doing the opposite.
