AYSO United SOCAL

AYSO United teams are moving to Albion. The teams currently playing in Division 1 and above are moving away to find better coaches and development.

Curious about this (source, info, etc.). Presumably, this would be a fairly significant blow to all the parents with kids currently in AYSO United, as that program is roughly half the price of normal club.

Which Albion is taking over the AYSO teams. All ages?
I doubt all teams for all hubs would be moving. Albion doesn’t have a presence, for example, in the conejo valley so that would need to be started from scratch or Albion would need to purchase oaks or newbury. Which hub? My guess is this is just the common occurrence of teams in ayso united that move away once letter league starts because ayso united has severely limited access to letter league. If so that’s pretty routine stuff and has been happening for a while.

It wasn’t half the cost when I priced it out informally this past fall, assuming a SoCal team for your kid. The guy I was taking with seemed to know his stuff (AYSOU Coach out of SD), and he told me it was appx $1700 for the fee. That tracked pretty close to the lower-prices clubs on my area (IE), but not too far off from average.

I assume OC/SD/LA clubs cost more, so I could see that being a better discount.

Got it, ty. I think there's a significant disparity in terms of club pricing in various areas, or just between clubs. I know this is something which clubs try to keep private (similar to how employers try to hide compensation); I wish there was more data sharing between parents to compensate.

For me, our local city club (west side LA) is ~$4000/yr for fees, plus another ~$400 for kit, and roughly ~$1500/yr for tournament expenses (the majority of which is travel related). The AYSO United team which is local is ~$2000/yr in fees. I don't know what the fees and expenses are for Albion, though; I assumed they would be comparable with our club, but I do not know.

Still just someone posting a rumor on a forum, though, without any details or source. Might be just one team somewhere, or just a rumor.

Friends played AYSO UNited San Diego EC last year. Both about $900.

Abion is $3300

AYSO United in OC has 2 different price (paid coach $2500, volunteer/unpaid coach $900).
Volunteer coaches are usually AYSO extra team that are signing up for Socal League (most of them did well in F1/F2, some in NPL).

Socal Reds, Blues, Pats, West Coast, Strikers about $3500 depend on age group for Socal League (MLSNext, EA, ECNL much higher).

Funny how every post is Albion takes over...santa Monica surf, bobs big boys, Ayso United, other random clubs

I do not remember the last time I saw a good Albion team. Their focus is clearly financial expansion , not player or coach development

Better pay that $3300 in 24 hrs or you will lose your spot ( on the mid table flight 3 team )

10 yrs ago they had a a few good teams

With as many that are moving over to Albion.. well rumor mill has it..I am wondering why so many good coaches leaving Rebels in the East County? Seems like a small quasi exodus?
