Albion SC (East County specifically)

Anyone have any word on Jason ALdous bringing any new coaches with him and/or what fields he may be getting access to?

Would be great if we could get some high level teams out east but with limited fields not sure it will happen.

From what I have seen the new branch clubs never get the ‘high level teams.’ The high level teams typically always stay with the original club.

Current coach with 2 2012b EC surf teams was watching Albion’s EC 2012 boys game intently for most of a half yesterday.
Seems he’ll be following Jason over.
May be good way to add to the 2012 player pool

Aldous went all over town looking for a club that would take him.
Only club that would was Albion East County.
No one else would consider it.

I have heard he has been telling people he is a reformed man.
Reformed ? Why does he even have to make that statement ? Reformed of what ?

You mentioned in a separate post that you feel like you have a good thing going there with Heth and Nadjar. I didn't see that being a club wide thing there.
Your child must be on one of the 4 boys teams with a winning record.

Of the 15 teams at the club, ten, 66 percent of the teams at the club, are in the bottom 3rd of their division standings.

If you have a daughter playing at Albion East County, I think you need to ask yourself why.

I actually have a daughter on one of the teams with a losing record.
I do not think winning is the only indicator of good leadership. I have been far happier with her here than what we Dealt with at our previous large club.

I also think when a “club” is only in their third year that has to be taken into consideration. Yes, Albion proper has been around but EC is only just getting their footing.
I think the player influx from surf will really get them going. Hopefully they have a plan for adding coaches and not just taking whoever is laying around.

As for the “reformed” talk, I am not sure what that means.
Maybe the health scares he had with his wife over the years took its toll and now he is out the other side.
His tenure as director at surf was a disaster as an outside observer, but time will tell what impact, good or bad, he’ll have on Albion EC

Albion EC fka San Diego United, which had been around for 10+ years with a pretty decent alumni of coaches - Sami and Jason being the constants. Coaching and club culture was generally top notch. Teams were competitive in CalSouth/SoCal/etc. leagues before things were shaken up by the "Rise in the East". The Albion acquisition essentially provided a path to the more "competitive" leagues for players willing to make the drive. Downside is the higher level players leave EC to play at the new hubs in OB/Hickman/Mission Bay - which is probably why you see the standings referenced above. Those hubs/teams now draw talent from EC, Kearny Mesa, South Bay, and OB/Point Loma. For what it's worth, if your kid is being coached by Sami or Jason out in EC, chances are they are learning to play the game and will develop well.

She is and that’s what I’ve observed thus far
