2007 DA

Love how the MLS schedules most u17 games late in the evening when most college scouts are gone. Last year in California, there were 50-100 at certain games. These games were all before 2 pm. Last night, not even half of that at most. Many that I have spoken with said getting there by 8 am and having to stay until after 9 was a bit much. Most important year for this age. And to top that off, any NON MLS team playing at this time was at a loss since most were watching MLS games. Another great decision made by MLS.

Even worse is they scheduled the third game for Friday which is a blackout period for D1 coaches due to the Final 4 so there will be no D1 coaches at your games. Oh and there are over 600 names in the transfer portal so a bunch of head coaches aren't there because they are staying home to do Zooms with potential transfers.

Ah. That makes sense. I was wondering why there we no scouts out on Friday. For any team, not just ours.

The u19 games were all mornings and 17s were evenings... in theory, the college coaches are more interested in u19s than u17s.

Any clue what this is about?
YSC is run by a 15 year old kid. He spoke prematurely and at least he didn't mispell anything this time... [insert eye roll]

USMNTPropsects and I spoke about two-three months ago when Academy directors began floating the idea of moving the PPP to 16/18s rather than 15s/17s. The Academy directors have met three subsequent times regarding the possibility of moving it as early as the 24-25 season.
It is in response to the realization that the majority of the 2006s were not ready for Next Pro. The MLS clubs then had nothing to offer them and most left. The MLS clubs need to keep their prospects engaged annually at minimum else they lose the player rights. So, in an effort to that, they could move the PPP to 16/18s and then those players born before Sept 1 would then either roll into college or roll into Next Pro. (The college players would need engagement through winter/summer combines to maintain player rights).
If you are a parent of a 2007 at an MLS club, you should really want this move to happen. It gives options for senior year. Stay and play u19 instead of stay and play UPSL. Wildly unimpressed with the UPSL level...

NCAA Sports eligibility question. Upon registering for the eligibility center it asks
“Have you practiced or played with any Men's Soccer teams or clubs since turning 14 years old?”
Is this referring to club soccer? Youth MLS next or EcNl? Or is it specifically for professional men’s soccer team? Does the USYNT count? What does NCAA define as to Men’s soccer team? Been registered for over year but recently this question keeps getting marked as a task.

List everything and every team. The issue is were you (the PSA) paid to play or train. For example, fine if LAG covers travel or if TFA waives club fees but not fine if Strikers pays you $100 cash to be on a team or $50 to participate in Man City.
