Fauci has done more to damage science then any other person in American history...he had a lot of help though.
I'll say it for the umpteenth time, the opinion of a scientist, doctor, "expert" in their field is not science, it's still just an opinion. Science isn't a set of facts, science is a process, and if done correctly a rigorous and independent process. Most people don't understand this.

Unfortunately how stuff gets funded has hurt science as well. You do not get (or it becomes much harder) grants if your research focus goes against the "consensus".
Fauci's claim is the 6 foot rule, "just sort of appeared". Makes you wonder about what other science has "just sort of appeared". Fauci is no closer to science than Espola is to not posting naked pictures of women.

I've aced multiple cognitive tests: I'm too stupid to realize that's not how these tests are measured, and seemingly unaware that if he's being asked to take these tests multiple times over a short period of time, that would mean they're not trying to identify dementia but are monitoring its progression and his decline.
