Today over on my Substack, a member of MAGA thought they were really going to "get at me" by accusing me of having Trump Derangement Syndrome — it did not go well for them.
My post over there was:
Donald Trump has wasted taxpayer dollars putting up fencing around the Reflecting Pool to keep out vandals who don’t exist — all to cover up his epic failure at trying to “fix” the pool.
All because of his Obama Derangement Syndrome and his obsessive need to prove he’s “smarter” than our 44th president.
Instead, he turned the Reflecting Pool into an embarrassing disaster and is now pushing conspiracies about “vandalism” that he refuses to provide any evidence for, all to avoid admitting he screwed it up and that this is just the latest entry on his growing list of failures.
Their reply: PRAY for a day there will be a cure for TDS.
My reply: I do, too. I really hope MAGA gets past their TDS and finally is able to break away from the cult and see the truth about him.
Hell, I pray Trump can move on from his Obama Derangement Syndrome and stop obsessing about a president who hasn’t been in office for a decade. I think if MAGA could get away from their TDS, where they believe in more conspiracies than I can keep up with in order to justify their support of him, and Trump could get beyond his ODS, both MAGA and Trump would be a lot happier.
Their reply: I don't think you know what TDS is. God bless you.
My reply: Oh, I do. It’s what Trump supporters suffer from.
You know, when you have to believe in so many conspiracies without any actual evidence that your entire view of reality is based on pure fiction.
Where a guy who’s cheated on all of his wives, skips church on Easter, shares an image of himself as Jesus Christ, and celebrates or mocks the deaths of others is supported by people who claim to be about “Christian values.”
The folks who say they’re against corruption as this president flaunts his without even trying to hide any of it.
The people who spent years telling all of us that they voted for him because he was the only one who wouldn’t get us into a war with Iran — then when he did just that, they suddenly became big supporters of his war in Iran.
The people who have supported him for a decade despite him promising to unveil his great health care plan, yet he's never produced anything close to a comprehensive health care plan.
The voters who blamed Biden for $4 gas linked to a war he didn’t start, but then made excuses for Trump due to $4 gas linked to the war he did start.
The people who supported the guy who said he would “end the war in Ukraine on Day 1,” even as that war becomes more and more bloody a year and a half later and have never held him accountable for that lie.
The people who all believe that the 2020 election was “totally stolen,” but somehow Democrats didn’t “rig” the 2024 election, and Trump has never put forth all the evidence he claims proves he won 2020.
The same people who probably believe Democrats can “rig” elections even as Republicans control the House, Senate, and the White House. You’re talking about that Trump Derangement Syndrome, right?
Their reply: You could’ve googled TDS instead of proving you don’t know and embarrassing yourself publicly. I’ll pray for you today.
My reply: Clearly my blatantly sarcastic tone and the point I’m trying to make about Trump supporters is going way… way over your head.
To be fair, I thought I was being incredibly obvious, but I guess they just didn’t get it.
That's where it largely ended. They came back with some random gibberish that honestly didn't make sense, so I moved on. It literally had nothing to do with what I had just said to them.
And, like usual, when someone from MAGA does comment on something I post about him, they don’t really defend him or counter anything I’ve said.
Nope, they just deflect and/or attack the post, because the truth of the matter is they can’t actually defend Donald Trump, so all they can do is continue to deny the reality about how horrible, corrupt, and incompetent he is that’s been presented to them.
Which is really the true "Trump Derangement Syndrome."
