"Dad -- the reason I got a D in this class is because the professor thinks I'm a fascist."
Not my kids, for one they're not fascist and secondly, I told them to never disagree with a professor. Always say or write what the professor believes is the right answer, not what you believe. The grade is more important than voicing you opinion. You're powerless against a tenured professor. I think that's part of the reason my daughter changed her major from a science to a business major. Science professors are way more liberal and they're a perfect example of the "teach" in "those that can do, those that can't teach". Whereas most of her business professors have or a had a professional business career in addition to, or prior to, teaching, so they're more centered in reality and consequences for your actions. As compared to those that have only worked in academia which is a very protected environment. For the most part, a professor can spew any nonsense they want without fear of ramifications.

It seems that what your children can vouch for is that you told them never to disagree with a professor.

In which science were professors "more liberal"?

From Sinclair today --

“Over the last week, we have received thoughtful feedback from viewers, advertisers, and community leaders representing a wide range of perspectives. We have also witnessed troubling acts of violence, including the despicable incident of a shooting at an ABC affiliate station in Sacramento. These events underscore why responsible broadcasting matters and why respectful dialogue between differing voices remains so important.”

"Thoughtful feedback" -- does that include things like "You fascist morons"?

One of my kids had to do the same thing in HS.
