Garland being an attorney for 5 decades doesn't mean he's good. Nothing got better on Biden's watch and you know it. NOT ONE THING.

Trump is appointing some "fuck you" people. It's not hard to understand. You're still crying about getting your ass handed to you in the election so let's not pretend you aren't marinating in butthurt.

Biden and Harris were dreadfully unqualified and the last 4-years showed just that to the popular vote and EC.

Liberals are far more concerned about what could happen as opposed to what did happen. Yeah Jan 6 was bad (and fortunately thwarted), but it doesn't remotely compare to the Dem Party unilaterally choosing Kamala Harris and ignoring the Democratic process.

How about keeping an obviously impaired and unengaged President in office? While Kamala may sound every bit as “out of it” as Biden, we can be reasonably sure it’s not because of dementia - alcohol, maybe, but not dementia.

The process of the Democratic Party (so I have been led to believe) when faced with a late death, disability, or dropout of the leading candidate is to fall back on the previous procedure they used to use as recently as the '50s and '60s, and select a new candidate at the nominating convention. Isn't that what they did this year?

VP, former senator, former state AG. We haven't had a candidate that qualified since the elder Bush.

She has plenty of faults. She is way too far left, unwilling to give a straight answer, and showed contempt for the primary process.

But "unqualified" isn't one of them.

Biden has a different problem. He, like Trump and Pelosi, is simply past his expiration date.

Only if you ignore the effort to eliminate all potential primary challengers, and lie to us about the state of his decline.

Democratic leadership completely cut rank and file Democrats out of the process. They don't get off that easy.

I think I said he was too old for another term over a year ago. I have the feeling (whether justified or not) that I was ignored.

The alternative candidates had won a total of 7 delegates by the time Joe dropped out. Joe had 3,905 by then, with 37 "uncommitted", from 3,949 total delegates to the convention.

Harris was inhibited from announcing her candidacy until then because she was already a part of the Biden/Harris ticket. If we allow an extension of Constitutional Law to the party process, she inherited Joe's pledged delegates.
 
Harris' qualifications? Hmmm, will someone please help me remember the qualification that got her the first big job? What got her "foot in the door"? Or, maybe there's a more anatomically correct idiom. If not, there should be. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I believe Willie Brown did.
