Today in Fascism

Biased report from Chicago --

Federal agents shot a woman five times in a South Side Chicago neighborhood and they’re still hiding the goddamn video. The Department of Homeland Security wants us to swallow their story—that Border Patrol agents were “ambushed by domestic terrorists” who rammed their SUV in a heroic showdown straight out of some fascist training reel. But the court documents don’t say that. The complaint says Marimar Martinez followed a Border Patrol vehicle. That’s it. No mention of gunfire aimed at agents, no claim she even reached for a weapon. DHS plastered her name across headlines as a terrorist before she was even out of surgery.

Her attorney, Christopher Parente, has seen the body-cam footage. He says it shows something completely different. He says the feds turned into her car. He says the agent pointed his rifle, finger on the trigger, and sneered “Do something, bitch.” Then he opened fire. Five bullets tore through a U.S. citizen who was warning her neighbors that immigration agents were prowling their block. That’s not self-defense. That’s state violence. And now the government that pulled the trigger wants to control the narrative.

They already got caught lying. They said it happened in Broadview. It didn’t. They said she drove herself to the hospital. She didn’t. They said she was armed. Her gun never left her purse. Every time the story falls apart, DHS rewrites it and calls the new version “official.” They’re stonewalling, hiding the video behind the excuse of an “ongoing investigation,” hoping the public moves on before anyone sees the truth frame by frame.

No more secrecy. No more anonymous spokespeople feeding sanitized quotes to reporters. Three cameras were rolling that day. The footage exists. Martinez’s lawyer has seen it. The judge can see it. The rest of us are being told to take the government’s word for it—after decades of watching that same government bury evidence whenever it’s the one pulling the trigger. Enough. Release the video. Let the world see what those agents did. If they were justified, prove it. If they weren’t, show us what justice looks like when the badge is the weapon.
Maybe Miramar should have been at work or her home minding her own business. It's FAFO time and ICE isn't playing games anymore. The days of libtard endorsed, 'i can spit in the face of law enforcement' are over. We're going back to being held accountable for your bullshit. I voted for that.

It appears you don't know that being a part of the Guard IS a job.
One weekend a month (it used to be one night a week) and two weeks a year (usually in the summer), subject to being called up by their state's governor to help in emergencies (usually natural disasters like hurricanes and earthquakes) or being federalized to be part of the US Army (as my grandfather and his brother (RIP) were in 1917). On the rarest of occasions, National Guard troops have been called up to deal with riots (a friend of mine where I used to work told us stories when he returned of guarding an intersection in LA in a tank during the Rodney King riots). There is no precedent for calling one state's NG to invade another state, unless you count the volunteer regiments who fought in the Civil War. Is that what t wants -- another civil war?

You didn't answer the question.
You mention emergencies and riots. I'd say rescuing sex trade victims, reducing murders and stopping violent protests checks all the boxes. And I'm not aware of any National Guard troops invading anything here. The only ones wanting a civil war are libtards embarrassed they're being called out for protecting criminals and endorsing crime.

Any other questions?
