👉 Let’s stir it up a little:

  • Who are your Top 5 teams in NL right now?
  • Who are your Top 5 in RL?
  • And which teams (from either side) do you think could be “dark horses” this season?

Drop your lists below 👇 and let’s see who’s bold enough to back up their picks when the games get going ⚽🔥

Here's SR's take at the beginning of the season. For NL I was able to find what is almost certainly the correct team entity, save 1 or 2. For RL it gets much dicier trying to pick which team is which, as some of them at this age group would just be starting to be called RL - but I picked what I felt was the best option. If any are clearly mistakes, please let me know and I can edit. Koge and Slammers are clear top bets for NL, Legends and Blues seem to be at the top currently for RL.

Saw the Koge v Surf game at Surf Cup. If those are the top two teams, then there is a massive drop off from #1 to #2 - IIRC, the score was 6-0 Koge

If they keep playing like that they will be.

But this past weekend they split two games with the #6, and tied the #14. They have performed in line with their rating for their entire game history, save for 1 green overperform.

Just looked at the table in that screenshot, Legends ECNL 2013G has played the hardest schedule in the country for 2013G teams (based on SR ratings of opponents) over their past 10 games. They certainly have every opportunity to maintain/increase their rating/ranking as they continue to improve.

It will be interesting to see how they do. I'm pretty sure a few of their players that were on the team during "The Showcase 2025" are now on Koge. I know at least 1 was for sure. Their best player. My daughters team is the 12's team that beat them that tournament. They were an impressive team at the time imo.

Koge 13 easily the best team

This past weekend they just went 3-1 against top 20 2012 ECNL teams

I think Surf will be there with them come spring next year , give them some more time with Walker

I think a couple of Koge players played on the Legends 2012 RL team that won nationals last season

I really like Walker. IMO he's the best coach in socal. Love what he's done with the 12's and I agree, give him some time. I don't think they are as talented as Koge, but if he can coach them like he did with the 12's their IQ and style can beat talent. That will be fun to see how the teams progress.

ECNL.
1. Koge
2. Legends
3. Blues
4. Surf
5. Beach

ECRL
1. Legends
2. Blues
3. Pateadores
4. Koge
5. Surf

In that order from what I have seen!

Legends NL vs HBK NL – 0-0 Draw 😳

Wow… didn’t see that one coming. From what I heard, HBK brought in a new player out of WA and honestly should’ve taken this game. Anyone here catch the action? What really went down on the field? 👀⚽

On the RL side, Legends absolutely dominated HBK RL. That squad looks scary right now. Could be too early to call, but I’m starting to think this Legends team might be the one to take it all the way this season… 🔥

Thoughts? Reactions? Anyone at the match? Drop the inside scoop 👇

I heard that Legends RL had several players with NL patches out there yesterday.

If they did, it’s likely players who are going thinking of transitioning to the RL team for the style of play of the team and the playtime. That NL team plays more direct versus the RL who plays possession to a fault. Parents like to blame the other team had patches when they lose.

There is no rule that anyone follows as to how many NLs can play on RL. My 2010 DD has played against teams who brought 6-8 NL players to play against them in a league game (multiple times in a season and in playoffs). It does bring a lot of frustration to parents on both ends of it who has a kid sitting to an NL player and to the opposing team who feels the other team is bringing in ringers and not playing the accurate roster.

In the end, kids coming from NL are typically coming off the bench or play maybe 20 min a game. They’re not typically ringers, they’re typically kids who are bubble players for NL. It’s rare to see 1 or 2 NL players make an impact. Parents get upset but it’s usually a collection of things that happen that determine the outcome of the game.

This game was played before ours, so I saw the entire match. Legends definitely controlled this game. Legends girls were much more physical, and their passing and ball movement was in sync. Legends had 2-3 closely missed goals. HBK not so much. Caught me by surprise as well. Kuddos to them

I wouldn't have put HBK RL in the top 5 like others above did so I wasn't really surprised by the score. I don't have a kid on the 13 HBK RL team but was curious about that game because my 2013 will face Legends RL eventually. So I asked a friend who was there and was told there were 4-5 NL patches out there. That 2013 Legends NL team is scary good. They were essentially the 2012 RL team last year... all 2013s. I imagine 4-5 players of that caliber would make a difference in a game at a lower level.

smom whats the rule on this? how many NL players can guest for RL teams?? that might be a really good point.
Like TeamDad said above, no rule for league games. It's the same league so NL and RL players can be pulled for either team as long as they are only playing one game a day.
