If you win how do you not advance in state cup?

The terms of a tournament are published right? If you don't like the terms don't sign up.

After signing up whinny about the bracket draw is entertaining but your kid just wants to play so let the chips fall where they may and don't worry about the draw.

Cal South Really dropped the bomb on this one .....According to https://youthsoccerranking.com Ole is the #2 ranked team in California.... how can Cal South not know this... Was really looking foward to an Ole vs blues Final.... knowing that Ole beat Rennies blues about two months ago in a scrimmage.... I personally think someone on the cal south board with ties to the blues did not want to see this game happen.... how do you change the tournament format while the tournament is giong on... hiw do you take out the semi finals out.... the only people that Cal south is hurting i”are the 9 year old girls that put their sweat tears and hard work into this..... The system is corrupted

The 2 best teams should always play themselves and changing the format after the Tournament started is already a big red flag

Ole is giong to end up with 9 points.... and a team with three Points and two losses is gonna end up in the finals.... Why is that..... because it was designed that way

The real problem is that typically in a cross-over format (currently being used at the 2011 and 2010 President's Cups) its not the winner of each group, but the two teams with the most points regardless of group. If they ran a proper cross-over the two best teams would play in the final regardless of group. CalSouth is doing some wierd hybrid format as if it's normal pool play even though its a cross-over.

Some get more motivated by being the underdog while other relish being the favorite, part of the journey so embrace that and enjoy.

My youngest kid wasn't a CS member after U12.
He did enjoy the 9 games to win it all, 5 different venues, crazy weather, etc , we didn't talk about who they where playing but focused on how they where playing.

He's probably coaching or training his kid to get the job done in the last game so he's doesn't have to come here and cry about how unfair the bracket and tie breaker rules are.

My player was knocked out of 2 tournaments in a row on tie breakers when he was younger. Sure it's not fun and I'm no advocate of certain formats but they learned, adjusted and where able to win the next go around.

PK's, tie breakers, OT golden goal in HS all part of the game. In HS most leagues don't even use GA, GF, GD to decided league winners if tied on points. Extra game decides which some like and others don't. In any case everyone is playing under the same rules so it's fair.

My suggestion based on personal experience is that the complaints could have been snubbed by having a semi-final round -- First of each group against the second of the other. It would only have cost those teams an extra game's worth of referee fees.

I don't even know who OLE is never heard for them.

You signed up for a tournament and now you don't like how it was bracketed or the rules so go cry somebody else the river or find another tournament where the brackets are never going to be cross over play.

Might want to read the rules before you apply next time so you can't whine no stop about how corrupt the tournament is so your team has a better chance of advancing out of a bracket since they didn't win there own bracket.

I wonder what happen to him though? Hi @Luis Andres. Everything ok bro? My dd was knocked out her first year of State Cup at Governors. I didnt even know they had a Presidents until I saw a neighbor at the fields. I was boasting at the time how great State Cup is and hopefully my dd team could make a run. He asked what division and I'm like, "U9 bro." My kid was playing up too, not because she was fast, just because we didnt have enough 7 year olds so most of us just let our dd play up the fist year. Anyway, I thought it was just one big open tournament and I found out their were two tiers and my neighbor let me know in all uncertain ways his was the best and most talented of the two and all the great players and their club ((owned by a dad)) were the top tier or Presidents. We got killed in all 3 matches and a few big tough dads hated me, and one even challenged me to dual, can you believe that? The good news a nice lady coach loved how my dd played and offered her an escape and she took it.

The Draw is not what we are taking about. The argument is whether this a crossover tournament.... or bracket play. In a crossover tournament teams with the most points advance despite there bracket.... in bracket play Obviously you play the teams in your bracket and the best team moves on. Thats not happening here... Its either one or the other
