CO folks are smart. They didn't drive or fly here to play 4 Slammers teams. Good luck to both teams. I'm sure CO brought a few unicorns as well that their trying to recruit :)

Real great battle! This CO team is well coached and these little ladies really are tough, technical and know body positioning!

Stay strong and battle tough. Represent SoCal all the way to victory. Is this at SoCal Sports Complex? If you get one more goal, I'm driving down dressed in green with my pet goat to cheer you guys on. Seriously, best news in a very long time...….

I know the Rush coach personally from when he was here in SoCal, he trained my son . I texted him a few hours ago and gave him some background on the Goats. Goats parents be on your best behavior please , I don't want another call like I got from the Baker bros a few years ago.
 
Great outcome for all involved. GOATS made it to the Finals of a top tier (keep in mind it's youngers) tournament and had fun and the Rush players got a great challenge amongst SoCal top GOATS all star team, coached by some dads and moms. Great stuff folks and I'm glad all of it worked out. If GOATS won...…...
 
Isn’t this the first ODP year for 09? If so I guess we shall find most of , if not all, these Goats players onto those making the selection. Congratulations to them for a well played tournament and of course to Colorado Rush for taking the title.

Unfortunate it comes at a cost, which is why historically GOATS typically played up a year in less “major” tournaments. It is a tough pill to swallow for anyone to watch a bunch of girls with green paint on their face, laughing during warm ups, eating ice cream before the games and just generally having the time of their lives when there is “so much at stake”.

My dd took that attitude into the DA and it didn't go over so well...…...Well, not that much fun, but you know what I mean. I get it though, at this time in their young lives they need to focus on the goal ahead. U10, not yet I hope. Good day for youth sports in SoCal :)
 
I would love to see a local GOATS non DA team sneak into a DA Showcase or Cup in the future. If it's in FL, have local non DA Players from FL be invited. That would be awesome to watch too. I think it's time :)

A SoCal team would be great too. I know the GOAT dads that I would call on to recruit and coach in the DA Cup Challenge. They would have to take it a little more serious so no green hair or any BAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHABAAAAAA from the crazy parents. I would hope and pray my dd would be picked for such an honor. You never know folks. I would have laughed at you in 2014 if you would have said a GOAT teams gets into a Blues Cup and plays in the finals at any age and loses in PKs. PKs, seriously :) :) :) Good job to the moms and dads for putting this team together for some fun on Labor Day!!!!
 
To put some perspective on this, the GOATS ‘coach’ didnt say a single word during the finals game. Rush had all 8 field players in the final third of the GOATS half and it was clear that was their weakness. Not a single parent or the coach said a word. It was up to the girls to see the game, play the game and love the effort.

Such an awesome weekend for the kids and the parents. Great relationships, great experiences and, contrary to some belief, great fun! Go GOATS!
 
This thread (parts of it at least) shows why we can’t have nice things.

Good thing this injustice The Goats have inflicted on the world has consumed MARS to the point it was necessary to post on the main SoCal Scene forum. I am sure that one is going much better.

MS can’t handle anything that they don’t understand. It’s fine though. It can’t stop future Goat teams. And posting here won’t make a difference. That new thread is nothing more than a tantrum about something that transcends them.
 
Eagles 09 parent here, we played in this Blues Tournament this weekend, I thought it was great. Brackets were balanced and fair to me, there were no real blowout games. In regards to the Goats team, kudos to them for forming that team. Our girls knew all the girls, some very well, Goats assembled a great team, well rounded, and honestly some of the best 09's out there, JUST MY opinion. For people getting so upset by this team Goats this tournament, I cant see why, one theory, their kid was not chosen to be on team but who knows?? Personally as a parent I like seeing my DD play the best teams no matter who or what team. Truthfully after playing the Goats and watching those two teams battle it out for an hour, and that game only being 2-1 loss for the Eagles, I cant be mad at that, Eagles proved once again they can be a contender for being one of the top teams and top rated players.
