Games of the week....

For the DA league:
Saturday, October 1 2016
LA Galaxy U-13 vs FC Golden State U-13

This should be an interesting game earlier in the season.

JJP was staying on topic by posting some backround info regarding some questions about the 9/24 game: Strikers vs Albion in the DA league.
Yeah I was just wondering what he thought of next week's games. He did share some good information though, appreciate it.

Looking forward to the GS vs LAG game. There's been some hype on here stating LAG and Slammers are 2 of the top 03 teams.

Baboso Still posting. You son of a-----)

Remember GSA is not 100% healthy.
Against Strikers they were missing 2 impact starting players. The center mid and the goal scorer did not play vs Strikers.

GSA Galaxy Slammers
Those are the 3 teams that have to separate themselves from the rest. The only 3 fully funded teams.

The best players in LA should play at Galaxy
The best players in the OC should play with Slammers
The best players in the IE should play in the IE..

That's how it should be.

There should be a rule where you can't play in another County if you're on a fully funded team.

I believe the talent pool is much deeper in all 3 of those counties . And also fully funded teams don't necessarily translate to quality player teams. It all depends on coaching and what you're trying to achieve.

But I do think you're right in that all 3 teams are best in their area. Maybe if they all added an extra funded team we'd see a more quality competitive environment.

...and let's include TotalFutbolAcademy for crying out loud.

There are tens of thousands of players in those counties that no nothing about any of teams you mentioned.

Club soccer is a sport of privilege for those that can afford it. There are a bunch of teams sponsored and the bigger clubs are just stealing from Peter to pay Paul.

We need to close the soccer gap where soccer is just not a suburban sport. Has to be more affordable and open to all to see succes like American football or Baseball has.

Support organizations that help get more kids in althetics like http://ussoccerfoundation.org/ or http://www.la84.org/

Community based programs are good for most but to say the best players should stay where they are and only the fully funded ones mater is a very narrow view.

What happened to most of the community based clubs anyway?

Sold out or affiliated away... TFA, Strikers, Surf, Galaxy, Pats, Slammer's, etc.

What's the difference now between any of them?

CSL premiere pre scdsl days was the closest to a real open reg/promotion league and ever since then we moved toward closed comp with a bunch of new and more $ expensive leagues.

Cost, logistics, field space is going to continue to be a problem with the growth of this sport. To be fair, one of the key reasons why many clubs have succeeded towards south counties in OC, SD and some to the east in IE is field and space availability. Lots of talent in E/S/C-LA, WLA, SFV, SCV SGV but not field space. Northwest counties like Camarillo, Ventura, Oxnard and North areas like Lancaster should begin to field better teams as they have more field space. Certain teams like RSC has dominated the Valley cause they have Pierce College and some fields in TO. Sherman Oaks Extreme, and Valley United would be better if they could secure fields. PATS-LA is starting to get a few more fields which is helping their recruitment.

It's hard for many parents to get their kids to far flung practices, vs going to local high school for football, rec center for basketball or baseball. So that's where your physical talent goes.

When you have a great team is the 18 players that make a difference it's not only 2 or 3...
So that's why Galaxy is a great team...
What you mean tell me Ricard Torres is that they're all equally talented? There's not 2 or 3 players head and shoulders above the rest? That's pretty hard to believe.

There are teams out there that struggle without key players.

20+ players can be on the roster but only 11 play at a time. How is there enough playing time for all them or the 4+ who barely have seen any game time?

Development league... training is one thing but game time is just as important.

Stinking mouth why you worry about other people kids.

Never equal but galaxy has very good talent coming of the bench....
I could probably imagine they could start in any other team....
That's the difference from Galaxy and any other team at the moment....
Galaxy shouldn't have an a excuse for not winning games if 1 or 2 players are missing

http://glxy.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=1654414

After (4) games;
21 players on the roster listed.
4 players haven't even been into game yet
6 players that haven't started
10 players have seen less than 1/3rd of the playing time out of the total and don't start more than 1/3rd.

Just about every other team in the age bracket is following the playing time guidelines/minimums

Galaxy shouldn't have a excuse for not following the guidelines or holding players on a roster that don't play.

There are no standing or playoffs and development is in the name of the league.

If "winning games" is not the top priority why don't more players see the field?
