When can a player be released

SILVER ELITE
Asking for someone who is not on here and she is desperate for advice regarding her child - when can a player be released? Cal south has released the player but the coach won’t sign the release. I was under the impression that after season in November they were released. Does the player have to be forced to not play anywhere else the entire year?

District Commissioners can solve this. They are all listed here --

Yes, contact your District Commissioner. The registrar from the dropping club is suppose to release within seven days after the parent releases with Cal South. After 7 days you can go to your District Commissioner to do it, usually because the releasing club is b***hurt about the player leaving.

Cal South will give the player a free Spring Card (non affiliated) if you don't have a team that you are already going to. Otherwise the new club will make one, usually with a charge.

She did contact cal south and they released her but they said her coach has to sign a form. But that coach is refusing. She waited it out from September and now again and coach still refusing I will have her contact commissioner

Thank you for help

Was the kid's parents one of those first in line at the December tryouts and signed on the dotted line? If they signed a new player agreement, then they can blame the person in the mirror for their predicament. They can play elsewhere, all they have to do is fulfill their financial obligations to old-new club and then they can transfer to the new-new club and start paying all over again.

If this isn't their situation and they just finished up their last season with the old club and are looking to move to a new club, then this isn't an issue. Go online and execute the transfer. Old club can not block. If there is an issue, cal south will fix it.

So now....what's the rest of the story.....?

They played the entire fall season and paid all financial obligations. However coach got wind they wanted to transfer mid season and refused. The team they were on was barely keep the numbers to play which was the issue. So they didn’t want to lose another number. So they fulfilled the season and then now the coach is still refusing until after NC

The new club should be able to create a spring card for her.

^ This. Her new team registrar should be able to print a Spring Card for her, or if she doesn’t have a new team yet she can get a card from CalSouth so she can do summer tournaments. If CalSouth has already approved the release that should be all that is required since it is not during the roster freeze period.

You can get a release anytime for various reasons. Our children aren’t slaves. You should initiate online first. Clubs have come up with real stupid reasons to fight releases. Can you believe they even lie? Call and reach anyone at the highest level possible. Some commissioners aren’t that responsive and not always the ones that deal with these issues when you call. Be a squeaky wheel and don’t accept lame excuses to work it out with club. Demand a release. Cal South can even mail you a new card for Spring/Summer and will even be labeled on the card as such. A club I know recently pulled the same thing with many kids who asked for releases. Sometimes Cal South will even want you to play let’s make a deal with the club - refuse. Get the release with no strings attached.

A player can be released any time the parent makes the request to Cal South. Clubs are not allowed to “deny” transfers or releases. According to their rules, they may not have to give you a refund for fees paid, but they cannot hold your child hostage because they don’t want to let him/her go.

As a few have mentioned, you can contact CalSouth or the DC’s to get this expedited.

There also may be roster freezes based on the league of play so a release from Club A doesn’t necessarily mean the child is eligible to participate in League play with Club B.
