Surf Cup Sports, LLC. is proud to announce the 2017 SAN DIEGO SURF CHALLENGE. The Thanksgiving tournament will be held November 24-26, 2017. This is a Class I Tournament open to USYSA, US Club Soccer, Super Y League, and FIFA affiliated teams. All games will be played throughout Northern San Diego County.

San Diego Surf Challenge age groups (U8 to U13) will play in divisions of 16, 12 and 8 teams. Each team is guaranteed four (4) games. Bracket play will be played on Friday and Saturday, while Semi-Finals and Finals are on Sunday.

San Diego Surf Challenge teams are allowed 18 players for U11 through U13 and 14 players for U8 through U10. Age groups U8 – U10 will play 7v7, U-11 & U12 will play 9v9, and U13 will play 11v11.

All top flight champions and finalists, as well as lower flight champions, will receive automatic acceptance to summer Surf Cup.

Entry deadlines are October 23, 2017 for the Surf Challenge.

Next year, I would strongly suggest having the wild card games playing in the loser bracket (or whatever you want to call it..lol) play those games on Saturday after their 3rd game in the bracket..that way teams, and parents can have Sunday off, and the kids still get 4 games in. It is a bit annoying for parents whose kids are on bad teams having to drive down that last day to play a 12th place game.

It has been suggested before on this forum, but it falls upon deaf ears. :(

What about the hotel revenue?
