Definitely didn't do either of the Surf teams (or CDA Slammers or LAGSD) any favors being in the B or C bracket with the funky schedule/brackets.

Blues walks to the Finals while the #2-5 best teams battle it out in B/C brackets for a semifinal spot, and the winner plays Blues in the Finals.

You would think the name of the tournament is the Blues Challenge.....

"Funky" brackets is putting it nicely. But agree with above post.

Put CDA, both Surf teams, Blues and LAGSD in one bracket in Flight 1. Each team plays each other and top points is Champion. Or even better, have top two teams play in final- this is how they currently have Flight 2 in this division.

Ended with a tight final, but some of the other games were "interesting"...

Lots of guest players. Very physical, lots of "interesing " calla/no calls/'decision making by refs. Oh...and it's always nice to see parents hosting happy hour at 9am for a GU10 soccer game!
...sorry awesome typos!

Guest players?? with who? I heard Slammers had 1. Are they guest players or players moving from one club to another?

Slammers and Surf had guest players. Not sure about the rest of your question.
I wouldn't call 2 players from Hawaii as "lots of guest players", but typical of tournament play around the holidays, and neither had a big impact. And to clarify, Surf Arredondo. I don't think her addition would have changed either the win against Surf Green or LAGSD.

2 players from 2500 miles away on 2 different U10 teams is a lot more than I have seen for this age group...and the surf arredando guest was impactful when she was on the field, may not have had impact on the overall outcome, but both girls brought some different looks than what we have seen locally. So that's where I arrived at the "interesting" conclusion. Not intended to be a negative statement.
