Spring league?

Can someone explain the difference between leagues?

I see a lot of them.

San Diego United Soccer League
SDYSL
YSL
Atlante league
Sprint league
CSL

I saw another here but don't remember the name.

How do coaches choose? Are they rated by level like presidio?

I can share our coach's quote re his most recent season playing spring CSL (B2006 team): We traveled too far for games and fields that were no better than local friendlies we could have scheduled on our own.

We got lucky last year with CSL spring league G05 getting some gold and Silver Elite teams. This year we are facing even better competition in the SCNPL league. With our team, it seems parents and kids do better having a set schedule. If we just do friendlies we don't always know about the game until the Wednesday before, and 3-4 girls seem to miss. Throw in the occasional other team doesn't show up crises and you just don't know what you end up with.
