and what were the results? Any big moves the year after the birth-year change?
I can't see many moves happening until after state cup is over. Seems like all of the clubs are having tryouts somewhere in the next few weeks.... I guess it gives girls a chance to look at another club and then have a few weeks to decide which place is the best fit for them...
The 04 DA really changes the landscape. I foresee lots of movement there, but not until after Natl Cup.
I expect to see a few '05's on some of the '04 DA I and DA II teams.
Newport Slammers 05 is pretty much wrapped up. Had over 200 girls tryout. Pre ECNL and Reserve Teams will be stacked with another tier 1 team, maybe 2... Should be an exciting year with two brand new teams.
What is an '05 "Reserve" team for? I get the Pre-ECNL prefix, but "Reserve" escapes me.
Maybe it could refer to the second team that will be playing in the same flight as the Pre-ECNL.
Correct. Plays same flight and keeps girls that may flow into ECNL and Academy ecentually. Teams are going to need to two top flight teams for these two flights
So there will be a Pre ECNL teams, a Reserve team and another 1 or 2 teams all playing Flt 1. I would assume they will basically all play each other during league play. Sounds like the '05 league will be 90% Slammers teams.
How many Newport slammers 05 (and 04) girls are following CB from Strikers?
Those that play for him currently.
200 girls for tryouts is insane. There's no way to weed through that many girls in a few hours, is there?
I'd have to think with the coaching staff assigned to the team they already had a good idea who they were considering despite the large numbers. I'm sure they invited players from outside the club. The coaches assigned brought players with them from their former clubs, brought players back into their age group. You would have to assume they will put together two very competitive flight one squads.
thats all i can think of
San Diego county teams not until march (i believe, would need confirmation)
I'm new to this forum. I have not heard of oc galaxy are they new?
Nhb has tryiuts next weekend but state cup is going on so I don't know how well they will do.
The rest of the clubs near us have been having tryouts on a team by team basis. Ie contact the coach.
Strikers is offering ECNL spots.
What are the rest of the ECNL clubs doing? Will there be an ECNL league now that there is DA2.
Strikers is offering ECNL spots for 2005's?
And yes, there will be plenty of room for ECNL with DA II.
Just when I finally kinda understand EGSL and ECNL.. What is DA2.., second team of DA? In our Temecula valley... unless we travel north or south obviously.. I don't think this will be an option for us as if now. Though our murrieta surf 06 boys will be DA next season.
04s from what I've heard.
Galaxy OC is formerly irvine slammers although i have heard irvine slammers will still exist? It's just a brand name similar to la galaxy south bay and la galaxy san diego.
