Post season play...

The Slammers B03 ECNL team had a great run in Chicago and advanced to Denver (top 8) in the ENPL National Playoffs. They went undefeated and only gave up 1 goal in 4 games in Chicago (to SOLAR) while scoring over 20 goals and also went undefeated in the Finals in Denver as well.

It's too bad the youthsoccerrankings.us has not posted those scores yet as their scores would surely elevate their overall ranking. They slaughtered a couple teams in Chicago 8-0 and also overpowered the #1 ranked team in Indiana in the knockout round 4-0.

Well good for them but what about this season? heard they are a shell of the former team with #10 and other key player going elsewhere.

As with any team, Teams do evolve with players/parents leaving due to their own personal agendas, thinking the grass is greener elsewhere and with new players joining the Club. At this age, there are alot of entitled kids who feel (rightly so) that they should play for free but with ECNL comes a great deal of Club / travel expenses. The Club (Slammers) can only do so much to assist in those areas.

As far as the team is concerned...
The Defense and Midfield is as good (or better) than the team that made it to the Top 8 in Denver in July (tying for first in their bracket). There have been some recent key midfield and offensive players infused into the system that should elevate the team and allow them to continue their winning ways.
