Players Showcase - Hotel Stay

Lulu

BRONZE
I know this is a Stay and Play but can anyone give insight on the rules of the Hotel Stay? I can't find anything on the website except that the team "must" book through the tournament's travel agent. There is no minimum amount of rooms required or if families have relatives they want to stay with or even if the travel agent can't accommodate the teams request regarding room size.

How strict are the rules...

Usually very strict. Vegas Cup, Surf Cup, Eagles Cup, etc

The worst is some teams for Vegas can get Aria or Mandalay Bay and others get the motel on the wrong side of the freeway.

Choose your tourneys wisely.

The team manager has the information.
  • I think there is a 10 room minimum.
  • The block reservation request form has room types preferred, but it isn't specific.
  • 3 night minimum
  • Prices looked reasonable to me
If the team meets its minimum, you can stay where you want.

Between my two DDs we have been to Vegas four times and only stayed at one of the approved hotels twice. In fact, the last year my oldest DDs team played the whole team stayed at a condo complex. But that might have more to do with their coach knowing the tournament director.

They can be very strict, I know of a team last year (and it was their last year), that didn't get in because they didn't follow the process and tried to book their rooms someplace else, why chance it, it's by far the best College ID in west and it's how they make their money. If you follow the process, you'll have plenty of hotels to choose from, our teams have already locked theirs in. This will be my youngest DD's 4th year, Stayed at Aria (sucked), a quite hotel across the freeway (more family Friendly and no casino, pretty good), Luxor which was the worst ever and this year it's the same place my older DD's team stayed last year, great hotel and close to the freeway after the last game to get out of town! (Sorry, not giving up the name until after next year) ;)
