National Cup and Regionals

Has anyone heard anything about 2005s National Cup champs not going to regionals?

The National Cup web site says "The championship teams at National Cup will represent Cal South at the 2017 US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals in Seattle, Washington, June 19-25, 2017." without an exclusion for the 2005s.

But the far west regionals web site lists the age groups as "The Region IV Championships will feature boys and girls in the 13U through 19/20U age groups." (http://regioniv.usyouthsoccer.org/regional_championships/)

Last year, the U12s played in the regional Presidents Cup (
http://tournaments.usyouthsoccer.or...-Presidents-Cup/Schedule/12U-Boys/Division+1/), but even this year's Region IV Presidents Cup web site (http://regioniv.usyouthsoccer.org/presidentscup/) doesn't list U12. "The event will feature Boys and Girls teams in the 13-U through 17/18-U age groups".

Could they be skipping the U12 age group this year to avoid the issue of CalSouth playing 11v11 and the other states in the region playing 9v9 in this age group? Could they be dropping U12 altogether? I look at CalNorth and their State Cup does not begin until U13. For Colorado, they are not starting State Cup until U14 (2003s).

As far as I know the 05s will be going to regionals, but it stops there for the U12's. I don't believe the U12's have ever gone to the National Championships.

There are very few 05 playing 04 DA.
The 05 who are will be sorely missed by current teams when they go to their 04 DA teams but official start date isn't until Aug.
The 3 05 I know doing DA have already said goodbye to their national cup teams and are with DA .

Does this also include CRL winners? Also wonder if the Strikers team will even have the minimum for roster continuity? ...9v9 in Norco... hm

9v9 for 05s is really bad. Many 05s can throw the ball into the goal from the touchline, just need a teammate to graze it with their head...

Yeah good question. I think your going to get some teams that wont be able to go. Great tournament for the teams that did qualify for it.
