DMCV Sharks G2003 Elite Kick Arounds
Dates: Nov 21 and 22
Location: Ocean Air Recreation Center, 4770 Fairport Way, San Diego, CA 92130
Time: 4-5:30pm

DMCV Sharks G2003 Elite is looking to add strong players to an already stout team for the 2017/2018 season. The team progressed nicely this year having finished 2nd in SCDSL, Champions Flight. Please contact Coach Matt Favor (mfavor@dmcvsharks.com) to reserve a spot.

The dates and location are unchanged. The Monday session has been moved to 5:30-7 pm. The Tuesday session remains at 4-5:30 pm.
 
This may be the earliest tryout I have heard of for start of the 2017 season.

Is that a new head coach for the team?
 
bababooey - DMCV Sharks tryouts for this age group are scheduled for March 6-9 with the aim of avoiding the awkwardness of having tryouts before National Cup although overlap might still occur for teams advancing deep in the tournament. I believe Surf are also holding tryouts in March for this age group. SDSC are holding "pre-tryouts" Nov. 17 and Dec. 1 with official tryouts in January. I am not sure about LAGSD (what is it with their website?), Albion, Rebels etc. The apparent wide variations in SD clubs' tryout dates will likely make tryout season more crazy than it already is. "Kick arounds", "pre-tryouts", "open trainings" . . . admittedly these are all euphemisms for tryouts to some degree. The competitive soccer landscape is ever-changing and the team is just trying to stay ahead of the curve.

As to your question, yes, Coach Smith has "aged-out" having run the team for the past four years (the change to birth year dramatically altered the team this season but a cadre of players have been with him the entire four years.) Coach Favor will be taking the team over after National Cup but will be working with Coach Brian and the team in the interim.

Fields are closed today. DMCV Sharks G2003 Elite kickarounds are, therefore, cancelled for today. The Tuesday session will proceed as scheduled (refer to original post), weather permitting. Thanks.

If you are interested in seeing the level of play for this team, DMCV Sharks are holding Age Group Training Sessions tomorrow at Ocean Air Rec Center in Carmel Valley.....the G2003s session will run from 5:45-7:15pm.
