Hotel Recommendations temecula

Hello,
Looking for locals to advise about realistic driving conditions to Galway Downs. Having a hard time finding reasonable rates for hotels in Temecula. Looking for Hampton-type family accommodations in outlying area. Attending regionals there so a potential of up to six games in 4 days. What outlying city is a reasonable drive considering traffic.

Any help is great.

Thank you!

Murrieta. Right next door. Not far from the fields is Pechanga Casino. Driving northbound on the 215 is Menifee. Not sure of the area there. I'd steer clear of Lake Elsinore and Hemet. South of Temecula you have Fallbrook. From there you keeping going into North San Diego Co.
Traffic in Temecula is bad either way. All the time it seems. Even worse on the weekends. Just give yourself extra time. Once you exit the 15Fwy at Temecula Pkwy to get to Galway Downs it's not that bad. It's just getting to that exit off the freeway that's the hard part. Where are you coming from?

Thank you so much.
Traffic is always worse than I imagine!
Doesn't look like much to do in Temecula for 12 year olds.....

We are traveling from moldy Seattle.

If you have the resources, some of the wineries in Temecula have hotel rooms available...Churon Winery, South Coast Winery, Ponte Vineyard Inn. Ponte used to let the kids run thru the rows of vines. There is also Legoland, not too far away ( < 1 hour ). Cheap lodging is going to be tough to find. And I don't know if you have checked AirBNB, but they have alot of multiple bedroom houses in the Temecula area that you could split the expense with another family. Good luck...

Check out the Welk Resort in Escondido. About 30 minutes away. But great pools and stuff to do for kids.
Prices vary quite a bit depending on how busy they are.

There are three main legs to the Temecula economy. Wineries (about 40) within 20 min of Galway Downs and Breweries (about 6); the Pechanga Casino (Las Vegas Style Casino (not the typical Indian casino), multiple restaurants, golf course, etc.); and Old Town Temecula (shopping, restaurants and bars). All of these are aimed squarely at the adults, although my kids don't mind hitting a few wineries as long as we buy them food and they have their phones.

For kids (12 and under) you will find the following in the general area (Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee and Escondido to the South):

  1. Miniature Golf / Arcade / Laser Tag / Go Karts - https://murrieta.mulliganfun.com/attraction/miniature-golf/
  2. Movie Theaters - A few near the Temecula Mall area
  3. San Diego Safari Zoo - Escondido (about 45 min away)
  4. RV Camping and Fishing - Vail Lake (about 20 min away)
  5. Kids Educational Museum - Pennypickles (Old Town) (good for youngers) - http://www.pennypickles.org/
If you are looking for a little family friendly culture then check out the Old Town Community Theater, which is listing:
Of course, if it was me, then I would be hanging out by the pool with a glass (err... bottle) of wine or beer while the kids laughed and splashed.

You might also want to consider doing an AIR B&B for that week.

You can find decent rental by owners on some of the vrbo like sites for Welk. Or even rent a house in the wine country with a couple families, quite affordable

We've had great stays at the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites in Temecula. Both are right off the 15 Fwy and about 15 minutes from Galway Downs. If those are sold out/too expensive, you should try the Hampton Inn in Murrieta, it's still a short drive and I've found rates to be more reasonable there.

Thanks again all, everything was very insightful. We googled everything!!! MWN, passing your attraction info to mgr for team activities.
Wineries were booked or way out of reach, Welk was tempting and Air bnb was our next step had we not managed to luck out with embassy suites. Custom omelettes and mgr reception with beer and sodas and apps.
Everything has sold out. Team is staying all over the place as we couldn't find enough rooms in one place.
Thinking this will be perfect. Laundry, amenities and a pretty decent commute.

Wow. Was really surprised how much 2-3 star hotels were booking for!

Hope to see y'all at Surf Cup.
Your So Cal teams are amazing.

Good luck!!!
