GPS trackers for training and games

randy

BRONZE
Does anyone have experience in using these vests currently or in the past? I believe they display a lot of metrics during practices or games, such as max distance, number of sprints, heatmaps, etc. Is it worth getting one of these?

Thank you for any insight provided.

Unfortunately players can't wear watches, so I am sure there is a price premium for those vests. But as a referee I have a garmin 235 gps watch and I love it. Granted, it tells me a lot of stuff I would only really care about as an adult like max heart rate and calories burne. But it has also given me some cool statistics like top speed, miles traveled and my heat map. I look at it every game and it helps me monitor my fitness level and effort. It would take a lot of effort and a trained eye to make sense of any fitness data for a player every game.
