FREE Heart Screening | Carlsbad | Sat, Jan 12, 2019

The Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation are offering a FREE HEART SCREENING to all youth athletes aged 12-25 on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the Carlsbad Senior Center between the hours of 9am-1pm.

Over the last 9 years the foundation has screened over 29,000 teens for heart abnormalities that put about 1 in 300 students at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest – a leading cause of death under 25, the #1 killer of student-athletes and the leading cause of death on school campuses.
Heart screenings are not a part of annual checkups or pre-participation sports physicals, even though most heart conditions have no warning signs or unrecognized symptoms — which is why Eric’s Foundation screens for free.

The screening will include a health history review, an EKG, consultation with a cardiologist, and if indicated, a limited echocardiogram. The EP Save A Life Foundation will also provide hands-only CPR training for all youth getting screened as well as parents.

NOTE: International guidelines suggest that youth are screened every two years.

You MUST REGISTER to attend the screening so please use the link below:
