Does Cal-South understand how seasons work?

I received an email from Cal-South yesterday promoting coaching classes.
They have some upcoming 9v9/11v11 (1 day and D license (2 weekends) courses coming up.

Why are they having coaching classes while the season is still going on?

Whats worse, for the D license session in Oceanside, you have to pull a Micheal J. Fox and hop in your DeLorean Time Machine to complete Weekend 2.

My guess is that these sessions are targeted at HS coaches getting ready for the upcoming Winter season, some of whom need certification and others who want to advance

I believe they actually need a different certification from NFHS
I think there is a very general "fundamentals of coaching" NFHS class CIF requires that is not specific to any sport, but there may be individual schools that want certification in their sport. I know some people who have gotten certified around this time before coaching HS, but it may be that they wanted to be available to coach club as well after the season ended.

I guess if you are a parent on the sideline and say "This coaching sucks. I'm getting my license" - This is probably a good time to do it. You might miss a few of your kid's games, but at least you won't have to stop your vacation plans over Christmas break.
