DA Tryout Process

Maybe a bit premature since teams haven't made coaching announcements yet.

How will it work?
Will players that think they are at that level do DA tryout tour and hit the 2-4 DA clubs in their vicinity? (Kinda like everyone did 10 months ago for age group changes).
Will clubs try to sabotage each other by holding some type of "mandatory" event while another club is planning a tryout?
Will teams pressure families to sign early before they have everything figured out?
Will players be told "our DA team is full, but you were our next choice. You should leave your current club to play with one of our other teams so when a spot opens up, we can move you over easily."
Will DA coaches be able to charge a premium for private coaching with the hopes that a player will get better exposure?
Will a kid from a smaller, lesser known club get a fair chance to compete for a spot?

For new teams different clubs work it different ways but normally two or more tracks; inside and outside.

First thing most clubs do is have some sort of "age group" roundup training for x number of sessions. Based on those additional players are invited or recruited from the outside or not.

For the inside track you either have to be with the club already, invited, or recruited as there is no "open" tryouts. The age group training go on for long enough to narrow down the field of candidates. Either that or most players from a high performing team are told they have the option to be the "Core" of a new DA team.

For the outside track, open or limited tryouts are held around the first of the year and there is a series of call backs that can go on for many sessions until the field is narrowed down to a working group.

From either track eventually spring team(s) forms and you start training more regularly together as the previous teams wind down from st/nt cups. After tournaments and into the start of summer the teams roster starts to get clearer where eventually registration happens in later august and players are approved. There is sometimes last minutes maneuvering down to the wire who gets approved on the roster.

Will clubs try to sabotage each other by holding some type of "mandatory" event while another club is planning a tryout? Yes this happens and when there are actual game conflicts, players have to make some choices. some players where dismissed from teams late last year after missing a CRL or other game to attend tryouts of another club.

The DA registration process is a bit more involved vs regular leagues so doubt you will see any pressure early since doesn't happen to august

If your being told the team is full the club had no attention of giving your players a shot at DA and spots don't open up normally.

The playing field is not level, the coach or coaches select the players, familiarity helps sometimes not so much other. No formula, up to each club, coach, team on how things work out.
