Academy Dual Age Band 2003/2002

Except for the fact that many college coaches want their verbally committed recruits to play at top level league to maintain their "investments". Seems like some DA clubs are switching from 4 a week practice to 3 a week with an additional "personal training" day to be done at discretion of player. Don't see many advantages for DA vs ECNL right now with that change being made...

College coaches are more concerned with the coach and the player improving than pushing any particular "team." The exception is if lots of your player's future teammates are on a particular local squad. Then it might be suggested that she goes and plays with future teammates for chemistry reasons.

That isn’t a DA rule, it’s a Club thing so the comparison needs to be made in a case by case basis, wouldn’t you say?

Thanks for your insight; no doubt that 2003 age group in so cal is talented. Just a short period ago, a lot of these 03 kids were competing fine against 2002 group. Obviously, the talented 2002 girls have purged or consolidated into DA, so the challenge will be greater for the 03. Just my opinion after discussing with a few 02 parents; but I don't expect many current successfull 02 ecnl players switching to DA. Why? Girls are happy where their at, getting college exposure and interest already, and don't want to switch back to ecnl a year later. So DA may lose another year of talented girls with 03 girls as some may opt to stay in ecnl or whatever league their in for the reasons above. Just my two cents...
Makes you wonder why we ever went to birth year in the first place eh? Seemed like a good idea until it didn't. $eems the $imple $olution is to employ birth year GDA. If an 03 is an elite player that can play at the 02 level I assume coaches and directors can figure that out and make it so. Isn't that what you people pay them for?

If this were true (and it certainly is not across the gamut ... if it's happening at all), why would the one extra training day be viewed as the primary advantage of GDA over ECNL?

Let's get it going here- What have clubs and DOCs shared so far?
A little off topic. Can someone explain why teams that played against Burlingame are showing the max 3 goals for a forfeit in team score but are still credited with all goals scored against Burlingame in the total. This makes a difference in ranking and wildcard positions for playoffs.

This seems to be a thorn in your side. Why?
