5v5 benefits and tournament action this Sunday

If any teams or groups of players are looking for some competitive small-sided action this coming weekend (Sunday to be exact), check out the 5v5 tournament run by FB5 at West LA College, link below. You don’t even need a coach (some teams still like to have a coach for 5v5 but it’s unnecessary IMO and without them, you’ll find players take on more responsibility than they otherwise would).

I have no affiliation with the tournament but some of our teams played in the spring league they organized and it was excellent. I’m sure many of you on this board already know about the benefits of small-sided soccer but the article below is a good reminder. I’ve mentioned before here that pretty much every kid I’ve seen in games who is outstanding, when I’ve asked them what their soccer background is, they’ve played futsal, 5v5 or something similar. It’s not a coincidence.
