Region IV Championships in Seattle

Well Surf didn't score from the field, so there must have been 2 PKs. How did Heat score?
 
So - watching the video of the last play - I am not sure what the Colorado coach is thinking.

You are up (and in extra time if this is correct). Why did they actually play that corner into the box? Why not simply play it and hold it in the corner? Mistake 1.

Mistake 2 - Why are there six players inside the 18 on the corner? No shape and balance between the backs and the attacking players in the 18. Why not drop a few between the 18 and the midfield to prevent a cleared ball out?

Mistake 3 - I have always been a huge fan of the girl that got the equalizer,...but how is she allowed to dribble through ultimately 6 players from her own 18,...basically going box to box untouched? I am not condoning hurting her, .......BUT slow her down, give her a nudge, pull her shirt, cause obstruction before midfield. Do something,.it looked like she ran through a set of cones!

Real gave this one away. Good on Surf to battle to the end.
 
After watching that video, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Surf is not going to win this tourney. It looks like ankle length grass, I really doubt Surf is going to be able to play their possession style up there. My money is on that one team with that 5'11" pushy forward. Send it over the top!
 
I heard from another parent that the grass is super long up there and they've received multiple complaints. Not good for teams that play it on the ground. :(

Tuesday was really bad. My DD had a private at 5pm and it was right at 117. Her coach gave plenty of water breaks and we had some shade so it wasn't too bad.

Could be. But they were working on position drills and first touch mostly. If they were going to run sprints or something like that I wouldn't have scheduled the session. Plus they took a break every few minutes. I felt bad for the football players I saw on a field next to ours.
 
Any predictions for Championship Game? Surf DA vs Real SoCal.... I am going with Surf DA! Does anyone know if the RealSocal Team is the DA Team for next season?
