I think I know what team you are from and you guys are a Fantastic and talented team..So Cal Academy is very good team we played them twice and lost both, they finished higher in the standings then we did and we are playing National Cup. I find it hard to believe that Cal South who runs National Cup mandated they play Presidents. It sounds like it was a mistake it can happen, come its club soccer weird crap happens all the time.
That is correct. Beach Perez 05, after winning Surf Cup flight 2, won Blues Cup, its SCDSL Fall bracket and CRL, i.e. all 05 competitions in which they participated since Surf Cup. Difficult to understand how the Surf Cup tournament director made that decision, especially when most of the players came from two U11 and U10 Beach teams that had been very successful before the formation of the new age groups.Not a parent of any of the teams mentioned previously or the one I will mention. So, in support that tournament directors choose flights here is an example. At Surf Cup this last summer Beach LB (Perez) petitioned to play flight 1 in the 05 age group and they were denied. They went on to win Surf Cup F2 among other recent accolades.
We were disappointed but what can be done?!? IT WAS AN ERROR.It is what it is and we aren't one of those parents that are complaining to our coach or club for every damn thing like other clubs or teams do. Not sure if you are aware BUT tournaments decide what tier we should be playing at NOT the team or club. You can call Surf and ask for yourself. There are great teams tab presidents as well
Yes, I agree don't get me wrong there is complainers but with this it was too late and we try and leave things up to the club.It's okay we will indeed be there next year. I appreciate your kind words, I do agree myself. I am positive your DD is also a powerhouse..Very valid point regarding surf cup, I’ll give you that but State/National cup is a different story. Regarding your comment about parents in your team are not complainers. They probably don’t complain to you but I have yet to be involved in a team where parents don’t complain; every team has them and there is nothing wrong with having them (its part of the sport). Also, in all the years and teams that my DD has played, the parents have not had a say as to which level the team played at a tournament or league (coach and/or team manager decide). By the way, my comments are not a knock in your team which I think is the most completive team in the area, and if I live in the area, it is probably the team I would consider first for my DD. Just like your team the girls weren't having it but they are going to the Semi's..So Cal Academy 1-0... closer game than I am sure most expected facing a wild card team....
