G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

Cruz lost a few players but don't know where they went but definitely didn't go to the Blues. Cruz did pick up a girl from LAGOC. Blues on the other hand got 4 new players to replace 4 players. One went to OC Surf and another went to Slammers PA/RG.

Two went to Slammers, two went to Surf.

For me personally, it would have to be SDSC. Got a chance check out a few of their games in between our games and for me they seem to play the “prettiest” soccer.

Agree with Luis.

SDSC plays the game the way it should be played.

Also, MVLA from NorCal. The way they connect passes effortlessly and play so relaxed with the ball at their feet is fun to watch.

Eagles SDSC and MVLA play great soccer.

Lots of talented individuals on SDSC, Blues, Eagles, and Albion.

Haven’t seen MVLA play but I heard they connected passes well and had great ball movement. Any specific players from those teams mentioned that stand out for you? From the Eagles I like the way #5 passes the ball and creates plays. She is very accurate with her free kicks, shots and corner kicks as well. #9 is also very good as well, love the energy she brings to the field and the way she fights for the ball running up and down the field transitioning from offense to defense. Her game reminds me a lot of the way my DD plays.

Eagles triumph over MSA 3-0. Just about the score that I was predicting. I’m sure the Eagles defense was solid as usual. They are great at not making mistakes. Seems like MSA does not have that championship caliber type of defense to compete with a team like the Eagles. However MSA is a much improved team from last year. I would put them as a top 5 team in CSL 2010 división.

Update: Received a message from an Eagles parent and they said Eagles dominated for large stretches of the game. They said MSA is a much more improved team from last season.

Week 3 games of the week

Surf vs Albion
Beach vs Sand and Surf
Eagles vs MSA
EDA vs Empire

Surf ? vs Albion ?

Beach ? vs Sand and Surf ?

Eagles 3 vs MSA 0

EDA 3 vs Empire 2

@Sockers858 Is waiting for someone to post scores the only way to get the info on these other games? If you have a list of scores for the previous games, I can easily throw it all on a spreadsheet to create stats and standings so we can see what’s going on with the big picture across all the flight1 teams down there.

Legends vs TVSA Hawks

Legends 8 to Hawks 0
About what I’d expect after their result last weekend against SDSC. Should be another fun one watching Blues vs Legends this upcoming weekend

Edited. I got in trouble by the club for putting up this development game against the best boys 2010 team in CA. So I had to pull the full video out. Word travels fast, Jesus. I guess there are more people viewing these forums than I originally thought. Kudos to @Dominic Great job building traffic to the site.

Made a video of my DD playing against the best boys team in CA. She played on defense most of the game. They can’t say nothing to me about that right?

Has anyone ever wondered or been curious how the best 2010 boys team in CA would do against a really good top 10 2010 girls team like OLE? I had recorded the first half of this great little battle between TFA pre academy b2010 team vs the Ole G2010 girls.

The girls had never played a game like this before where the other team can actually play possession soccer with player formations. They were fast and very technical as well, moved the ball extremely well. something you don't see girl teams doing in u10 soccer. The girls get 4 goals put on them in the first 5 minutes of the game. This forces them to have to adapt and adjust to this type of environment quickly to grow their game and compete in the process. Epic development game. They obviously lost 7-0 but it was a great growing experience for them.

Just thought I'd share this clip cause I've always wondered myself how a type of game like this may look like at the u10 level. Great to see these boys play this style of soccer at such a young age and great to see how a u10 girls team can grow as the game progresses. For me personally, it was the time when I realized that my DD can play and hang with some of the top u10 players in CA. She was able to play, keep up and win most of her 1v1 battles against them. Don't mind the audio lower it and the joy sticking on this development game and enjoy a great 20 min half of this unique little battle.

Not trying to be mean I’m just curious what you mean the other team played possession style? I stopped watching after the first 6 min and 30 seconds and didn’t see either team connect more than 3 passes and that was only 1 time by the boys team. A lot of individual dribbling and skill from the boy forward but definitely wasn’t possession. I’ve seen Blues and SDSC and eagles connect more passes and play more possession than what was in that clip. Typically top girls teams will beat top boys team until the age of about 13 when boys start hitting puberty and athleticism starts to take over for the boys side.

The boys were connecting most of their passes towards the middle of the half. At first they came out blazing, lots of 1v1's happening in the beginning because they felt they had the edge cause they were playing girls. After the girls started to adjust their game and play better defense boys were forced to start making more passes to move the ball and trying to penetrate the defense for shots at goal. They could no longer do what they started doing in the beginning so they had to play a more possession game to create plays but it wasn't easy when the defense became more intense.

Of course top girl teams mentioned can play possession soccer, so can we but usually when the defense is not as physical and intense. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that when you play physical tough defense, it disrupts the possession game like the Ole girls did to the Eagles last game. The defense made the Eagles resort to a more kickball type of game versus their normal passing game. They had a hard time connecting passes and threw the ball away on numerous occasions. This was 6-7 months ago if I recall. The boys are really good however. They will beat any top girls team of the same age.

My oldest son's friend played at MSA's home field on Saturday. He said the crabgrass was so thick you couldn't even see your cleats. Everything passed had to be in the air because the ball couldn't roll. Have a feeling the quality teams over the weekend battled the field conditions more than each other.

That’s terrible, I personally hate it when the fields are not maintained. I’ve also seen some home fields that have potholes and kids can also get hurt. Bummer cause our next 2 games against MSA are over there. The girls will just have to grind them out.

The best boy team in CA? I highly doubt that. It’s ok to be excited but be honest.
