Surf Cup 2019

By the way, Since I am a first timer at the Polo fields, any recommendations, warnings on the facility/parking situation?
Thank you!

For Polo fields expect the possibility of a 15-40 minute wait just to get inside the venue, and then another 15 minutes to find parking and get to the field.

Not really. The way it is set up now, for the main front fields, you're directed to the right at the end of the entrance road, and you follow it down until you're in the general area of your field number and look for a spot. Here's the field map ... http://surfcupsports.com/surf-cup-sports-park/ Fields A - D are the "back" fields and are directly to the left as you enter the facility. On one of the Man City Cup days, there was a large back up on Villa de la Valle to enter the park, although I haven't seen it that bad again. Still, I'd suggest giving yourself some extra time just in case.

Best of the Best - Legends
Black - SC Blues Vaught
Blue - Rangers

Seen a lot of this Legends team lately my DD guested with them in June and they look strong.
Vaught has been in the 2nd tier in a couple of tournaments this summer and has won so sticking with them.
I'm thinking something is missing with Liverpool that's why they are in the lower bracket. So going with Rangers baby.

I'm headed to Vegas to place my bet!

All these north tuxas fools about to get they tails whipped. Best believe dat. #westside #bestside #bigworm
They may get beat, these things happen in soccer. However, based on the past two Supercopa events, Cali hasn’t fared well against Texas teams in the 2009 age bracket. Maybe the home field advantage will give you guys the edge you need? Maybe it won’t! If “all these north tuxas fools” end up beating you in your own backyard then I think you should walk over to the coach, shake their hands and take you defeat like a man. (#westside - is there still an east coast west coast rivalry? Lol, taking me back to my high school days)

I was trying to figure out the #westside comment myself.

I was thinking it was propping up LA’s west side (so not only regional chest thumping but that within SoCal as well) but I don’t see any teams from that area in any flight - couple South Bay teams which are west but not really west side. Also the Laguna in the handle suggests the OC.

Carpool, carpool, carpool. Parking is expensive. Arrive early. The line to get in the facility can get really backed up. If coming later in the day (11pm or later), park in the first spot you find near you field. Spaces can be few and far between later in the day you arrive.

Don’t yell at the refs. This is “Surf Cup” and spectators yelling at referees is not tolerated especially at the younger age groups. If your team has a parent that has a history of yelling at the refs, you might want to sit far way from them or have them stand/sit well away from the sideline. Don’t drink alcohol at the field. Every year I see or hear about numerous Youngers parents get removed from the facility because they were drunk and yelled at the referee.

Read the tournament rules. In 9v9 the keeper can punt the ball but it cannot travel past the midfield line in the air. 2009’s are no heading.

In the evening......find the team parents that don’t drink alcohol and convince them to watch the kids. The rest of the adults should go (Uber) visit the numerous micro breweries, a lot of them have food, throughout San Diego.

Take a scroll thru the North Tuxas forum. These fools from soler havin some sorta epic meltdown. Get that weakness outta here. Big Worm ain't got time for nunna that.

I have a lot of respect for North TX teams. They traditionally do well at Surf Cup. Would have been interesting if D'Feeters made their way out here...maybe next year.

North Texas SC is the brand new feeder club for FC Dallas. They play their home games at Toyota Stadium in Frisco but have a stated goal to play elsewhere both short and long term. Short term probably in someone else's venue, long run in a venue of their own. NXSC is a connection between the MLS side and the Academy for FC Dallas with a focus on, but not exclusivity to, the U23 age bracket.
