So Cal Blues 2012 Looking for a Marta or a Mia to join our winning TEAM

RR is responsible for putting more 7 & 8 year olds into 3 and 4 hour commutes a night than any man in US Soccer. If he was great he'd coach the kids from the local area like all good coaches should do in those age groups.
To be honest....that’s the parents not RR...he just opens the door for them.

@Kicker4Life you cant really get mad at a parent that wants to drive through traffic going both ways for a hour each way to one of the best youth coaches in the business. If there is no teams in your area at a high playing level and you don't want to play against BOYs. You may have to make the voyage I was told a little future 13 year old pro drove from magic mountain 3 days a week to work with Rob R. Blues is a very tough environment we go through a crazy amount of ice packs at practice. Its not for everyone.

HaHaHa!! Good luck and I hope your daughter's team has a great season. Just out of curiosity, if they don't win a lot this year are your gonna be searching for a new club?
The Blues are a great organization they cut girls every year about 15% from each team, we will try our best to make the team next year. going to take it one year at a time.

Do not tell those who have already walked the path 2x’s over the way. I am trying to be kind when I say, enjoy the journey.

@Kicker4Life I'm a Father of 4 with 3 Kids in high school, Been the booster club president to Equipment manger Ive enjoyed the journey 3x's over. I have the teacher edition my friend on "THE Journey".

One of the best recruiters in the youth game!

Rennie was even given credit for recruiting a few of the D1 commits from the Blues Baker teams that recently won ECNL National Championships. Some of their 2019 graduates from the Blues Baker team will be playing on top D1 teams! Blues definitely paves the path of D1 success!

So recruiting or developing?

Both! You can recruit a 8-10 year old, however, they obviously need to develop their ability to play at a high level. It’s understandable why they have success if they know what players to look at for the future of the game.

By the way, ultimate respect to you Kicker4Life! You seem to be very knowledgeable across the board!!

@Kicker4Life The Gaffer Rob R is the Best youth coach I have ever seen, he puts so much time into development and finding the best girls. He Found my Fifi at 4 and called us to check in monthly and came to her Latin League games just to watch. He then coached my Daughters Latin league team in Santa Ana for Free in there Hello kitty KITS.

Let’s be clear, I like ROB. I just don’t believe he is the best youth coach around. He is by far the best recruiter in the youth game no doubt. That does not take anything away from his coaching ability.

Please name another one that you feel is at his level U12 and under.

It is great to have loyalty and belief in your daughter’s coach, it makes the entire parental experience much more enjoyable. Having said that, there are many talented u-little coaches in Southern California and as you observe opposing teams over the next few years, I am confident that you will eventually see some coaches that are extremely talented at developing individual players and/or teaching tactical team strategies. Best of luck to you and your daughter’s team, they’ll be u-olders before you know it.

Craig Bull
Pete Aguiarre
Mark Hodson
Andy Winn
Diego Souza

Just to name 5 I can think of off the top of my head without thinking too hard.
Pete is a AMAZING coach, has not had a U6 team in YEARS and years
Mark Hodson: Fantastic coach not a U8 and under coach
Andy Winn: Great Players coach not U8 and under coach
Diego Souza: I would love for my little girl to play for him but would take 8 years.
Gaffer Rob R: Coaches U4-U12 and then they go to Baker....has won 16x state championships. All of his teams won state this year 2010s x1 2008s 3 time state champs.

Mic Drop!!!!

You said u12 and under, so your retort is perplexing.

The fact that you think winning state championships is the only thing that signifies a good coach tells me a lot. Best of luck!

Tim Kelly of the eagles SC IMO is the best coach for youngers that I have seen. Doesnt have to joystick his girls or yell at them to work hard and gets the most of them. They are always prepared, developed, team oriented and always a tough out. Major props to him and the club. 30 yrs of coaching.
