Love Tap or Foul?

Entire family is out of the house.

Just me, a bunch of Kona Longboard and a video shot today.

2 equal teams, both with new coaches on a horrendous Jr high school field.

First off:

Purposely cut short

To me, love tap. It looks like the kid that went down had a lot of momentum going in. But that’s just my layperson’s take.

Unfair charge into the opponent; red player's shoulder into the black player's back. I whistle the foul and have a talk with the red player.

I'm not a ref, but it looked like one player was trying to play the ball, and the other player was shoving him in the back.

I am borderline with calling a foul. It would depend on what has been going on in the game and what the players are tolerating. If that was in the first few minutes, I would probably make the call just to send a message to the players to keep it clean and set a threshold. The game is about the players and some teams are okay with these types of light fouls and want to continue playing.

There's really not much there. Yes, a little contact, but it resulted in nothing. If you start calling that type of contact as a foul, the game would slow to a crawl. Now if it gained an advantage for the red team, go ahead and give the free kick.

Rainbow Unicorns post reminded me to follow up.

No call on the play. There were so many to post from this game I didn’t bother.

It was a good evenly matched game (my opinion) which devolved into a tugging/pushing match.

Apparently the ref (according to a a player) told the home team he wasn’t going to call much because they were old enough to take it.

I had a bunch from another game but didn’t think to bring my drive while on a business trip.

I gotta say I appreciate the opinions from the group. It helps my (and I hope others) view of the game and how it’s called
