99's forum is dead!!!

Beach could be on the who-dunnit list what do you think ? Maybe not taking any chances lol

Maybe, but a little odd cuz they've seen us. That's game was 1-1 and no BS we should have won. We didn't finish. Oh well doesn't matter now lol we will all be there Sunday Beach plays before us.

Beach- Rossi/ Legends 00 Academy
0 - 3
Beach - Nunes/DM Sharks
1 - 4
Beach Academy/ SWAP
7 - 0
LAG/Legends 99
2 - 3

It has to be wrong. The last time those two teams played they tied and swap should have won.
LB, This is funny but I like the spirit and he made things entertaining... hopefully there will be a recap...and they did have a fantastic season and advanced to Round 2 before the reality of Beach set in...no Made-for-Disney movie at this time...

not a misprint :( if I had to describe this game I couldn't lol Hats off to beach but in our defense we had no defense lol honestly i don't know WTF happened and after goal 2 its sad to say be i think they just gave up which is not like this team. back to the drawing board!!!!
I don't fully agree rdzl. The score was 0-0 with just a few minutes left in the first half. The first half was a well played and SWAP was defending well and Beach had to work hard to penetrate the defense. Good luck to your team and keep working at it. Hopefully the team is able to move up to Champions next season.

Season is over - and once again ECNL dominates!!!! Sorry state for club soccer, but the fortune tellers took the 'unknowing' and lead them deeper into the upper levels of girls soccer. Too bad for the state of club, but that's where the money lead folks - to chase the dreams. Those wishing to play in lower level D1 (I'm not saying it's a bad thing - just lots less scholarship $$$) will undoubtedly settle for D2 or NAIA or just go for the degree school. But the dreams ended when ECNL struck their flag in the ground. Except for those 'few' that make it beyond ECNL.

I don't quite understand this post. I get that it is a rant but not sure what the target of the rant is. ECNL has worked out great for PLENTY of players so not sure about the "few" comment means. ECNL even worked out for the discovery players that have popped up repeatedly from non-ECNL clubs. Even those clubs that feel like they are golden because of the DA "holy grail" had players that benefited from the ECNL exposure.

"ECNL has worked out great for PLENTY of (correction: ECNL team) players". The rant is - the rest of the girls have and will continue to fall through the cracks of the money hounding clubs out there that have made $$$ their key interest. Like when they say "Development" - I say BS!

I'm sorry if things haven't worked out the way that you would have liked. I share your pain. However, having had a player that went from U14-U18 in the ECNL and having only played for ECNL clubs in her career I will say that they did a good job of developing her. Some did more than others and at the end of the day it was a combination of her fantastic coaches, her not so fantastic coaches, her private trainers, her teammates, the competition that she played against and most of all her talent and desire to improve everyday that did the developing. To expect it to just be the ECNL is to do the typical American thing and point a finger at someone else instead of pointing the finger at yourself for expecting somebody else to do a job that you should have been doing all along. Do you farm out your daughter's academic education or do you follow it closely steering it in the direction that your family thinks that it should go? I'm sorry but just like anything else in life the more you put into it the more you get out of it and I am not just talking about writing a check and hoping that fixes it. Take responsibility for your part in the outcome whether it is what you wanted to happen or whether the results weren't what you desired. Hindsight is 20/20 and most prophets are denigrated all the way up to the point where everyone realizes that they were right. Of course by then it is usually too late. Let this be a lesson for the future.

We did follow through. We did "take responsibility". We took her to different teams through her soccer years, after looking over the coaches at those teams, and watching those teams play. And we continued her on with her private coach who she had a ~U10/U11. He was the best she had overall. Problem is - they try to sell you onto the team, and when they hook ya, sometimes it works, often times not - as you know. To equate it to education - that's apples and oranges. We bought in the neighborhood we did because of the school system, and never was really concerned with her education. She has had good teachers, great teachers, and 1-2 poor teachers. And we didn't shell out $2500-$3000 per year for it. Soccer is a business transaction - they promise; you pay. And as I've mentioned before, ECNL is lightyears ahead of typical club soccer now.

So what do you do if your all paid up for NOMADS and NN calls you because they have a spot for your team ?

DD's team is playing in both NN and Surf. It can be done, but coach needs to manage tired players and players themselves need to take care of themselves over the long weekend.

Nomads is more of a regular tournament format with up to 6 games when you add in quarterfinal, semi final and the championship games...NN is 1 game per day with no semis quarters etc...playing both seems like a real challenge...

Rdzl, your team is playing great and I am guessing would have 6 games in Nmds...that plus 3 or 4 games in NN could be 10 games over 3 days???
