Games of the week 18-19....

Thanks for clarifying on Strikers South Coast and how their roster was built. Now it makes sense as to their domination in DSL. It's interesting (jpeter) what you mention about what the Galaxy and Surf is doing in DA/DSL. Sounds like the old LAUFA Premiere team(s) that had so many different rosters you never knew what team you'd be playing on a given day.

It's too bad Arsenal and Strikers don't play each other during league. Very surprised SDSC beat Strikers South Coast. Not a knock on SDSC, but I think Strikers is that much better than most in Discovery. Seems like there have been more surprises in Coast Premier this season. Oxnard and Boca LA Premier are the top 2 teams and I think they would also be top 2 or 3 in Discovery. Seems to me like there has been some good league competition in both leagues.

I’m Not knocking or taking anything away from SDSC a win is a win. But I think the big difference in the game on Sunday was, Strikers SC coach didn’t show up until the second half of the game, so the boys played the first half of the game without any coach.

Ironically, SDSC's coach has only been to one Sunday game this season. He is a university coach and has endless conflicts.

Ah maybe that's why he doesn't understand or apply the correct subbing rules?

Reenter in the same half is not allowed, the ref mistakenly thought the two SDSC players that went back in the second half where allowed, not the first ones to do this but you would hope the coaches would at least follow the rules according to friends we spoke to about this game.

Having a substitute coach is fine, no coach is tough but at least gives the players some experience in self starting and being ready to go no matter what the situation.

Yeah what is your points. The answers are very similar and I am not sure why mine was incorrect. Can someone explain why the second one is correct while the first is wrong or less correct?

Yeah I heard about that too, with the ref and the two subs, I don’t even think the ref himself know the rule too, mistakenly tow time in one half. Laughing loud at the referee.

you know a lot about strikers sc team.[/QUOTE]

you know a lot about strikers sc team.

Which strikers team(s) ? They have like 5-6 in this age group. My son's has a couple of friends on their different discovery teams and if they ever combined thinks they would be even better. The former galaxy, barc da player is on the Irvine team for those thinking it was the other one.

DA is back to local play this week, the NW/SW games last week where mixed/split results so the comp looks closer this year so far.

Strikers FC U-16/17 vs LA Galaxy U-16/17

Sunday, October 21 2018
FC Golden State U-16/17 vs Albion SC U-16/17

DSL is starting to bunch up for the top spots:
Pateadores - LA B2003 vs Arsenal FC 2003 USSDA

In CSL Oxnard is 5 pts clear on top but the race for the spots after that are very close:
TOTAL FUTBOL ACADEMY vs DMS11 ACADEMY B2003

FC GOLDEN STATE 2003 vs BOCA JRS LA B03 PREMIER

You paid all that money for what ?
I guess that we pay for excellent training sessions, awesome networking with the university for the boys, and great connections with other college coaches through him. We are all a little disappointed with the game day situation. But I guess that you can't have everything. And SDSC certainly isn't the most expensive club, for this teams level of competition, is San Diego.

You are correct , as long as the training is excellent your club can provide a knowledgeable backup coach. What if a coach has multiple teams , they are bound to miss some games. Its great to win league , but there is usually no college coaches. I feel CRL , National League , National Cup and Surf and LV showcases are more beneficial.

San Diego Soccer Club B2003 Academy Navy 3-1 Strikers FC - South Coast B03

Saw the DSL game. looks like SDSC has finally found their rhythm after a strong finish last year and a slow start this year. Strikers were over confident from the 10-0 blowout. The competition is pretty good, only five points separate the top 7 teams. Pats looks like they may be moving to number one spot soon. Game to watch next week:

Pateadores - LA B2003 vs Arsenal FC 2003 USSDA

Real So Cal B2003 ADT vs LA Galaxy San Diego B2003 Elite/Ritchie

Pateadores - LA B2003 1 Arsenal FC 2003 USSDA 0

Is this the same coach that allows players to be rostered & play on two separate teams at the same time with different clubs?

Box reports & game day rosters seem to indicate this is going on:

How many other teams in DSL are taking advantage of the lack oversight, or is it just a few coaches?

This one is totally within the rules. The player in question can play ECNL with one club and SCDSL with another. If you look at other ECNL teams they are often doing the same. It allows the player to gain exposure to the ECNL college showcases etc and stay with their local club

This is not an indictment of SDSC. They are no better or worse than any other club BUT "excellent" training and "networking" with "the" university, that's funny!
I used to drink all that "Kool-Aid", also.

These are regular season league games.

Who's rules are you referring to? Cal south and DSL have there own set of rules especially on the same day.

Rules or not how is that reasonably for the rest of the players on those teams ? Taking advantage of loopholes to try to win more games sends what message to the players?

Ok a most interesting comparison considering the player in question is by far the best player on the San Diego SC SCDSL Club. He basically runs the whole team from the back. Don't get me wrong as the SDSC team is strong but they are definitely taking advantage of the system here...
