Games of the week 18-19....

Agreed for Strikers FC vs Galaxy Ritchie... looks like Strikers have settled back to earth. Not sure yall knew but Strikers FC were trailing Slammers Reserves 2-0 last week at half time. Kinda surprised Strikers South Coast beat Pats LA so badly since Pats have been on such a great run since Nationals...

Over in Premier - Oxnard is on Fire as well as Boca Premier (LAUFA) ... Surprised to see TFA and Santa Barbara both with 2 losses so early in the season.

One change worth nothing is that Santa Barbara's super stud Defender that previously used to play for Oxnard went back to the team. Not like Oxnard didn't already have some of the best Defenders in SoCal but IMO, this may end up making a huge difference. They went from getting beat by LVSA in Seattle at Regionals to beating them in Surf Cup 2017 (August). Only difference in the 2nd tournament was that he guested and completely locked everything in the back down. This frees up the coach to be more flexible where he plays the twins.

You're here talking about Discovery aka Flight 1, really?

Enough with the recreational talk buddy.

Since there is no academy. Discovery has the academy teams playing there.

Please dont say Boys encl league is a higher league. That league is garbage and makes parents believe they are playing a high level. I do applaud the clubs that have ecnl!!!
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Regardless of which league you want to have close competition, each one seems to have some good team at the the top 3-4 but most often the comp falls off from there & you see these 5-1, 3-0 scores but lets see how this shakes out this season?

Week #3

Another week of NW/SW play in DA

Sunday, September 23 2018
Pateadores U-16/17 vs Real Salt Lake U-16/17
Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-16/17 vs LA Galaxy U-16/17

DMS11 ACADEMY B2003 vs OXNARD UNITED SC
BOCA JRS LA B03 PREMIER vs TOTAL FUTBOL ACADEMY

Pateadores - Irvine 2003 vs Strikers FC - South Coast B03

After dominating a dismal CDA Slammers FC - HB team in a 8-2 victory in the opener. The second game against San Diego LA Galaxy was a little different, you can tell a lot about the character of a team how they respond. On the basis of what was on display at Silver Lake on Sunday evening the strikers Irving have a lot more fight in them. A young and vastly Strikers FC Irvine team put on a solid defensive display to come away with a hard fought 2-1 win against a San Diego Galaxy side that ran out of attacking ideas to break them down. After their 2-1 win against LA Galaxy San Diego BO3 Elite/Richie, Strikers FC Irving Chingirian travels back to Silver-lakes on Sunday to take on the struggling San Diego Surf Academy Boys Select 2003. While no game is an easy game, it’s important for Strikers Chingirian to take care of business against the weaker sides and continue their good form.

The future game between Pateadores Irvine Reserve Academy and Strikers South Coast will be a good one on Sunday, bout teams is playing great, there is a possibility of a tough match between the two teams because the defense of both teams is very strong. Strikers South Coast is coming off with a 5-1 blasting of Pateadores LA on Sunday, while Pateadores Irvine Academy pick up 1-1 tie with CDA Slammers FC Cerritos B03 Vargas, that a good coming up.

Over onto USSDA both the LA Galaxy Academy 04 and 16/17 travel on the road this weekend to take on Crossfire Premier and Vancouver Whitecaps.

Agreed that Strikers South Coast vs Pats Irvine Reserve will be a decent match-up... Both have played B03 Vargas recently... With that said, Strikers have a well structured style of game play due to their possession and calm/smoothness with the ball. They also have a fierce Striker coming up the right side. Pats play a defensive game by bottling up the middle and hope for a long ball to their fast/shifty Striker up top. Strikers may have made some personnel changes though since the NHB Cup. As a matter of fact, the strong mid-fielder who played for the Strikers in the NHB Cup was playing for the Pats on Sunday. Slight edge to Strikers in this one...

2nd hand account: strikers went up early and was leading the entire game. Pat's came back, there was a late conversation call with the CR& AR disagreeing on a offside / act of God hand ball on a corner kick rebound but CR overruled and allowed the goal trying up the game. Strikers subbed and scored late, heard Pat's made them work for it although not sure how close of a game it really was?

How about some of the other games:
San Diego Surf Academy Boys Select 2003 2-1 Strikers FC - Irvine 2003 DA Chingirian*

Anybody with a recap of this one? Surprised? Maybe this new division will be more balanced than predicted?

NW did well vs SW in DA, Whitecaps came back, last minute equalizer vs Galaxy 1-1, RSL split a pair w/ GSA 3-2 & Pats 0-4

LA Galaxy U-16/17 vs FC Golden State U-16/17

OXNARD UNITED SC vs VALLEY UNITED-DELGADO

SEPTEMBER 30, 2018 Sunday
SANTA BARBARA SC ELITE vs DMS11 ACADEMY B2003

Strikers FC - Irvine 2003 DA Chingirian* vs Arsenal FC 2003 USSDA

Strikers fc DA vs Arsenal ,Arsenal score first and started dominating the game and strikers didn’t know what to do with Arsenal’s Forward.Arsenals forward had a breakaway one of the defenders for Strikers came from behind and steamroll the Arsenal player sending him flying and injuring the player and taking him out of the game. After that the game even up and Strikers DA when up with back to back goals but a last push by Arsenal and a nice piece set and brilliant finish with a header to even up the score.

Watched part of the 2nd half of this game, both teams had short benches and the strikers seemed to have the better run of play from what i saw but that was a nice last second header off the corner? I thought by arsenal.

Galaxy 16/17 game vs FC Golden State was a good one, GS pulled out a 2-1 win with a last min goal. Not much for DA this week so:

OCTOBER 6, 2018 Saturday:
SANTA BARBARA SC ELITE vs VALLEY UNITED-DELGADO

OCTOBER 7, 2018 Sunday:
BOCA JRS LA B03 PREMIER vs VALLEY UNITED-DELGADO

Pateadores - LA B2003 vs Strikers FC - Irvine 2003 DA Chingirian*

In DA GSA 5-2 Arsenal to go to near the top of the standings. The schedule is kind of choppy this year in DA, having weeks between league games is different. Another SW/NW match week:

Saturday, October 13 2018
Silicon Valley Soccer Academy U-16/17 vs San Diego Surf U-16/17

Around the half way point for CSL and DSL.

In CLS... Oxnard Lost 3-2 to FC GOLDEN STATE 2003 but are 5 pts clear of the 2nd Place Boca Jrs but gets tight after that with #4-12 separated by just a few points.

COLTON AMERICA SC ACADEMY vs TOTAL FUTBOL ACADEMY

DSL has some close game(s) with a 10-0 Blowout? Guess its like CLS somewhat where you have some teams maybe out of there element at the bottom of the standings.

San Diego Soccer Club B2003 Academy Navy vs Strikers FC - South Coast B03

In regards to the CSL -

LAUFA 0-8-0, 2 goals for, 56 against. How does this happen at this level? Im just curious. How awful it must be to show up for every game knowing they aren't even going to be close. I give respect to the players who get out there and still compete under those circumstances.

Pretty sure many if not most from the 17/18 laufa team went to boca juniors with their coach after the season, when division placement had already been decided. Laufa might have asked CSL to move them down to Gold although I'm not sure they would be fairing much better. Will be taken care of with pro/rel, one of the nice things about CSL.

BTW, CSL seems to be light years ahead of SCDSL in this age group. Perhaps ECNL disproportionately hurt SCDSL.

DA is combined ages u16/17 so those top 03's are playing there for those clubs in the mutiple leagues. Their CSL or DSL teams are partly 2nd or B teams which is fine but the competition does get watered down somewhat especially after you throw in boys ECNL.

CSL has a better depth of teams beyond the top 2-3 IMO. There is more balance for teams #3-12 in CSL compated to DA or DSL where the comp seems to drop off past #4-5 or so in DA or even higher in DSL. Lot more scoring in CSL compared to DA or DSL but not exactly sure why?

Either way the colleague showcase and tdays tourments will have some cross leagues matches so should be intesting to see how those might play out?

I’ll argue that the current SCDSL Discovery is the toughest group at this age. All but a few mis places team are making it a war week after week. The top 4 CSL teams are solid but the comp get weaker after that.

South Coast is made up of the LAUFA DA which most left with some added solid players- best team at the age IMO- Boca LA is the old LAUFA reserve group (also solid).

This will change next year when many of these players recenter DAs as the olders of the age bracket. Then CSL will be on top again

While this doesnt have da teams since they are combined and some of the info is not really current to give a idea:
2003 Boys:
https://youthsoccerrankings.us/rankings/CAS/16/Boys/

Both Boca Jr. & Strikers have a mix of former LA United players from last season with Boca having many more.

A large core of each DA squad are playing a year in SCDSL. You can look at their roster and compare- A small handful of the top players from each team are playing in the 2002/03 DA still. Pats 03 DA kids are playing SCDSL 2002 while on hold to return next year
