PREMIER
That time of year again to discuss the traditional weekly league games.

Lots of changes this year and I can't say I know this age group or teams all that well anymore but I will try to highlight a couple of games in each league that might be interesting but please add your own, comment, opinion, etc. Go ahead and add the other leagues if your interested in those, but I don't have any info on those.

First up is the DA league: U16/17 West-> U16/17 Southwest-> starts 9/1 ends 7/1/2019

Some changes in DA this year, reduced number of games so more chances for outside play & tournaments along with Playoffs for the top 3 normally plus wildcards:

Sat, September 8, 2018:
Pateadores - LA B2003 vs Real So Cal B2003 ADT
RSC looks to be one of these teams with academy players from previous years sticking together to try another league while waiting out the composite age groups U16/17 in DA.

Sun, September 16, 2018:
LA Galaxy San Diego B2003 Elite/Ritchie vs Strikers FC - Irvine 2003 DA Chingirian*
Same goes for the strikers, mostly the former DA team roster so should be intresting, SD looks like they picked up some pieces from Albion and Surf.

Any good results from the discovery league

Strikers FC - Irvine 2003 DA Chingirian team is stacked, can any other team challenge them? 8 goal beatdown vs Slammers

Pateadores - Irvine 2003 4-1 vs. Surf.

Pateadores - LA 3-2 vs. RSC last minute goal

Those are likely the top 3 but time will tell.

I was surprised to see Oxnard beat TFA 4-0. I thought TFA added a couple of impact players, but maybe they were rusty given they aren't playing CRL. Albion and DMS had good weekends and Boca LA (old Laufa) is stacked. Vargas beat Laguna 1-0 and I'm sure both teams will do well in league.

Discovery 2018 New Team of the League: Way, WAY too early prediction.

Wait until weeks three or four, before we saids who is the team to beat.

Yeah good point, week to week things can change.

The other game of the week
0 Pateadores U-16/17
1 LA Galaxy U-16/17

#34 the former Strikers player with the last min winner for the 2nd week in a row. Both teams good on the D, but will they find enough scoring to make the playoffs?

You're here talking about Discovery aka Flight 1, really?

Enough with the recreational talk buddy.

The other game of the week
0 Pateadores U-16/17
1 LA Galaxy U-16/17

This was a good game, fun to watch both sides.

For early in the season normally more scoring but it was good work on both sides and pretty clean play.

The heat was a factor at least for me & I was just spectating, surprised the some of the subs came on so late but with a game looking like a draw until the last minutes guess that happens sometime.

Pats might be the best non MLS Academy program in So Cal.

Great director teddy, coaches, and professional partnerships help, they always seem to play the Galaxy tight.

The only champions from Pat's that i recall was that combination team with force club /w the Vi bros so what other things makes them the best, just curious?

For what I’ve seen they work to develop player. Of course I respect other opinions.

On to week 2,

DA this week is mostly NW vs SW travel but

FC Golden State U-16/17 vs Real So Cal U-16/17 should be intresting to see where RSC is at early in the season.

CSL BOYS 2003 Premier; ALBION SC USDA , DMS11 ACADEMY B2003, OXNARD UNITED SC off to fast starts

SEPTEMBER 15, 2018:
BOCA JRS LA B03 PREMIER vs ALBION SC USDA

Sun, September 16, 2018:
LA Galaxy San Diego B2003 Elite/Ritchie vs Strikers FC - Irvine 2003 DA Chingirian*

Like I say one game doesn’t mean anything, and isn’t LA Galaxy San Diego, give strikers fc a good run for the money today.

Today’s Score
Strikers FC 2-1 LA Galaxy San Diego — Strikers South 5-1 Pateadores LA

I happened to be at the fields, walked over and took a look, the game was in the stadium. Strikers had 2 subs and SD had a full bench, it was pretty warm. Regardless, SD made it a game, I saw them score but left shortly after. I'm assuming Strikers were up 2-0 before that goal. What's crazy to me are the 03s now look like they've filled in body-wise... time flies.

Also, forgot to bring my putter!

Agreed for Strikers FC vs Galaxy Ritchie... looks like Strikers have settled back to earth. Not sure yall knew but Strikers FC were trailing Slammers Reserves 2-0 last week at half time. Kinda surprised Strikers South Coast beat Pats LA so badly since Pats have been on such a great run since Nationals...

Over in Premier - Oxnard is on Fire as well as Boca Premier (LAUFA) ... Surprised to see TFA and Santa Barbara both with 2 losses so early in the season.

Haven't been to Silver-lakes since they opened but I heard from two different people this weekend those grass fields are kind of on the smaller side, short corners and not full width. This seems odd to me since they had all the space why would they not create bigger fields?. Maybe we're spoiled in USSDA with the field sizes but are the turf fields there also on the smaller size?

Real Salt Lake lit up 5-1 Nomads and they could be a contender in U16/17 in DA. The playoff spots are going to be tougher to come by in U16/17 this year in the SW IMO.

The new discovery League is getting nice. Teams just started to warmed up, 14 good competitive teams, some great kids, the environment on the Sunday games is looking real nice, the soccer fields is pretty and great. SCDSL stepping up the new discovery League 100% big time, props....

You can’t please everyone

It’s impossible to live up to everyone’s expectations.
There will always be people — no matter what we say or how we treat them — that will judge us. Whether you’re at the gym, at work, taking the train, or even while taking Spanish lesson online. Even now it‘s happening. You will never be able to stop people from judging you, but you can stop it from affecting you.
Think about the worst thing that could possibly happen when someone is judging you or what you’re doing.

Did know strikers south coast only have 12 official player on their team, that mean only one Sub, while Pats LA have like 19 player on their team,

Early in the season like others mentioned and things do change week to week, always like to see progress but something takes a while for teams to gel & get players back to form.

With smaller rosters might be easier to get a cohesive group playing for each other all the time . I don't really understand why teams carry more than 18 since that's game day max, especially if you're a paying customer.
