SCDSL

I think there are a couple of surf parents who could probably give their take. That SD surf team looked great from what we saw at blues cup.

During the league season you can expect to see a lot of diff developmental work going on. All kids will play 2/3’s of every game. Kids will be placed in diff positions to get them out of their comfort zone. This was the same approach applied last year as well. It def makes for some tough ones to watch but it’s the end result we are going for here. The team will be just fine.
I wasn’t at the game since my dd was nursing an injury and didn’t play but did hear it wasn’t pretty. Nice job by OC Surf. Nothing should be taken away from them. They earned the win.

Good stuff. All the best to you and your DD this year.

Kudos and respect for your coach if this is how he approaches the beginning of the fall league.

Is this done throughout your club or just your DD's team in particular?

Is guaranteeing kids good game time not common at this age group? If not, it certainly should be. My DDs played under this coach and he always shared game time around, but positions were largely set (which parents and kids were perfectly fine with). This was a couple years back so may have changed it up.
