UCLA 5'3" Keeper

The FB post said the following:
"Congratulations to Idalia Serrano, the newest recipient of the Marine Corps NROTC Scholarship. Idalia was presented with her scholarship check by her older brother, Staff Sgt. Oscar Serrano. Idalia is finishing her senior year at Mendota High School and is heading to UCLA next year. Each recipient of the scholarship receives $180,000 in scholarship money, full tuition, a monetary stipend each month $350-400/month tax free, opportunities for summer training with Marine Corps fleet units, and receives a commission as a Marine Corps Second Lieutenant and serve on active duty in the Fleet Marine Force.
Good work Idalia!!"

So she has a full ride but not for soccer. Pretty awesome though and in order for her to play for the soccer clubs she played for, she would have had a 2 hour commute each way. Just thought this girl was pretty impressive all around since she beat the "norm".

UCLA Men started a keeper, Cole Martinez, who is 5'11", last night in its away game v. 17th ranked Coastal Carolina. He is a senior who has barely played in his three years at UCLA. He's the shortest keeper on the roster. Height isn't everything and it is possible to move up (he got the chance b/c the keeper last year transferred to Rutgers).
