Referee Association Recommendation

I'm a recently certified grade 8 referee, and now need to join an association to start working games. The CalSouth website provides a list, but I'm finding there really isn't much else information available to guide my selection. For example, only a few associations even have a website. I live in central Orange County and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for me.

I was advised that the fees charged by associations are varied (for example some are flat fees, and some are taxes), and I might want to look around a little bit to find one that would be good for me based on the number of games that I plan to do....likely just a couple weekend days each month, so not too many. I'm also interested in mainly working games in central Orange County, although I don't mind traveling a bit. Any information, experiences with associations in the area and/or recommendations would be appreciated.

Central OC is largely NOCRA. Very well run organization and gets good games.

There are others in OC, however if central means Anaheim and North then NOCRA.

Thanks Frank. I'm in Irvine, and I was wondering about both OCSRA and NOCRA. Are you saying that both are very well run, or do you think one is preferable to the other?

I’m in both. I was, just going off that you requested central. Also, I would never highlight or disparage an association in a public forum. Both associations are very nice to me.

Imrecommend being in multiple associations as they don’t always have games on a given weekend and if in multiple you have more access to games.

I too am starting out, coming from an Advanced ref in AYSO. I figured I should making some $$$ and moving up the certs. I live in Corona though so does anyone have suggestions on some good IE associations? I only found the 4 below. Any feedback on any of these is welcome. Do you get paid relatively the same for each org? I understand you get paid more for the older and more experienced divisions but I was asking based on apples to apples. I live near Silverlakes so I'd prefer an association that handles those games. The ones I see are
1) http://www.iesra.org
2) http://www.tcsra.com
3) NOCRA and OCRA that I'll look at from previous posts.
