CRL Play In Tournament - 06s (2018-2019) - Tech Specs.

Some tough kids out there playing in this heat. In Albion and Galaxy game kids played really hard and spread out game.

Galaxy had a front line that made it really difficult on Albion backline. Albion did a great job early controlling pace and keeping possession but Galaxy stepped up their pressure and one some battles in the scoring zone. Some really good soccer by both teams

Found OC Great Park a great venue. The fields were exceptional and the overall grounds very nice. The heat was exhausting on Saturday from the humidity. Sunday still hot but doable. Parking was a breeze. Hoping we can continue to play there and avoid Galway Downs.

Albion is a well coached team. Whitaker and I think Hughes have them playing some great possession soccer. Their ability to develop comes from the midfield.

Pats are doing a job trying to get these girls moving the ball and connecting it across the field. Also, a big kudos to their keeper. She did a great job and made some great saves. Look forward to see how they develop the rest of the year.

Thank you... Only MW coaching the girls again this year. But Frankie SF stepped in as cover over the weekend and had them moving the ball well.

Does CRL have same cache with ECNL teams pulling? Blues Surf are at top of the food chain?

Side note: What’s this LAFC Slammers? Same as Slammers? saw LAFC Slammers beat Albion (Whittaker not Johnson) on home turf in Albion Cup? Heard from 05 team that played them in EGSL Tier 1 that they pressure on top a lot and make you make bad passes on defense and play a disciplined game?

Also agree that OC Great Park is a great venue. Looks like they added even more fields and when we went, they were in great condition. The stadium is a great place to play and watch also. Completely agree, more events there would be great! Yeah, real parking not dirt also!

Blues and Surf are definitely part of the food chain. With Surf all in for DA late they did not sign up the top team for CRL. LAFC is the boys side and Slammers (Newport) is the girls. Though that relationship is ending. Have not seen Slammers of late but it is reminiscent of how they have played before jumping to 11's. Stadium was very cool. Saw a men's league game playing their and was envious.
