SILVER ELITE
Who's in for CRL?
The 2018-2019 dates just posted...
http://www.californiaregionalleague.com/en/2018-2019-dates/

Any other clubs having issue with that June 30/July 1 weekend?
(it's our club summer break and literally one of the only week's our families can plan a vacation)
I know last year CRL started after July 4th...I emailed the director to ask about a possible date change-- if your club is in similar situation, let the director know....he said I was the first to ask, but they would consider a change if enough clubs in the same situation.
Thanks!

Crap. Adios Cancun!

Already gaining entrance to CRL are the top 8 State Cup finishers. Everybody else plays in a tournament (May 5/6) to find the last 4 teams. Not everybody that signs up for the play in games will be accepted.

The “8” already in should the teams decide to play are:

Albion
Eagles
IE Surf
LA Galaxy SB
Legends
San Diego Surf
Slammers
So Cal Blues

Yes and need to retain 75% of the roster.

What age groups are these?

When will the CRL play-ins team grouping or schedule's be posted?
Cal South hasn't been the best at organizing the CRL Application process for either Play-In or the Regular League Play. Applications closed this Friday for the youngers and the Play-In dates are May 5th & 6th. Schedules and acceptance to Play-In are very last minute so I'd expect a week out at worst, 2 weeks at best.

Below is the list of the 15 accepted teams for the 2018 CRL Youngers Play In Tournament for the Girls 2007 age group.

AYSO Matrix Bonita - G2007
Beach FC LB G07 R Perez
Beach FC SB G07 Hodson
Beach FC SB G07 Torres
LAGSD G07 Pre Academy II-Walker
LAGSD G07 Pre Academy-Walker
Legends FC G07 Pre-Academy II
Real So Cal G07 Pre-Academy
Rebels Soccer Club - G07 Elite
Riverside MGFM Soccer Devils
San Diego SC G2007 Academy Navy
SD Surf Academy Girls (Dolinsky) 2007
SGV Surf G07 SG
SoCal Academy G2007 Hazell
United Los Angeles - G2007 White

Some interesting brackets. There will be a few disappointed teams. In every group I could see at least two teams making it through.

Is anybody else hearing that CRL may expand to “16” teams for this upcoming year?
Also, is anybody from the top 8 State Cup finishers not registering to play?

I have a question, What does CRL do interns of the tournament season and league? Does it take away from being interested in playing anything else? Could this be a shift of top teams playing each other more?

Certainly it will cut down on the number of tournaments entered into, possibly as many as 3 fewer tournaments in the summer and 1 fewer in January. As far as the fall season, CRL tends to operate in a bubble. For the most part, the teams that pay attention to the CRL standings are the 12 that are in the league. The fall season will provide exposure to a wider audience and the motivation to perform well will still exist.

League last year for us was a disappointment . Hopefully this year SCDL uses less location but instead group better teams together based on results . CRL will give us competition which we didn't have in league last year.
