So who has already had tryouts

for 05's? How is that?

Not sure. My friend has a 2005 daughter and she texted me this morning about it. Maybe it is "Pre" Academy. I'm not sure if 03, 04 or 05 will be the U14's this next season. I missed out on the birthyear transition.

Pre-Academy makes sense. 2004's are U14 now.

Agree all the big clubs already chose~ they have even tried their recruiting from other club players act. Glad it's finally done!

Then what spots are left over on these other club?

I think they mean that unless your DD is a standout, the chances of making a pre-academy 05 team right now are pretty low because the DA clubs are the big clubs and have populated these teams with their top players already. The tryouts are for their other teams.

Our DD is on a Flight 1 team, but it's still the B team considering the DA team is above us.

Seriously not trying to be mean at all but again this is club double speak. Flight one doesn't mean anything - there is an A and a B. Flights in SCDSL are determined by DOC. I am sure the people at your club regard the DA as the A team.
The question is are you at a club that promotes or one that spends its Nov to Feb recruiting from other clubs rather than look at their B team?

Certain coaches do- but no not clubs.
I was under the impression with your previous posts about "what spots are left" that you assumed tryouts meant anything.

We need a sarcasm font
It does break my heart though when I see very well intentioned parents going through the process and being blindsided
Nothing wrong with playing on the B team or C team. Before signing on the dotted line though, it's up to parents to make sure the level their kid is placed in is a good fit in terms of the coach, group of players, and level of play, and to educate themselves on what they will be getting for the coming season so it matches expectations.
Is there a club that promotes within? Name clubs that do!
It is true that it's rare but there are some clubs that do promote from within. LAGSB does.

Never said it wasnt. Said that clubs and parents need to be transparent and realistic in terms of expectations and what the club is also able to provide.
