Piercings?

Keeper today had her eyebrow piercing in. Ref was aware of it. Didn’t seem to care.
Had a game this summer with a girl with her nose pierced. Ref noticed it about 5 minutes into the game and made her remove it.

Why can’t players / parents understand that a piece of steel in your face or ear is very dangerous.

Referee should have had the girl remove the piercing. I saw a women’s league player, allowed to keep earrings in, get hit in the side of the head and drive the earring post into the side of her head. Bled like crazy.

2 girls on the same team this weekend had an upper ear piercing that was covered with tape.
Ref didn’t notice it during pregame.
Just after halftime, he noticed and made them leave the field until they could be removed. Not sure if they removed them and returned or not. They approached the AR and tried to convince him that the earrings were flat and should be ok. AR wasn’t having it.

My daughter uses little pieces of silicone thread that she puts in the upper ear holes during the game. I will let players that put on the silicone plug hole rings keep them in because it is not unsafe.

Can’t she just play without anything in?
(Not trying to be a jerk. Generally curious)

Those ones on the inner part and top of the ear start to close up after 2-3 hours and can be painful to put the earring back in. At least that is what she told me.
