2018 USYS Cal South National Cup Olders - Boys 2003/15U

WTF? We can meet at PatsLA vs. TFA if you like foolio? You got me fked up. This MSX3 on mines.

I'd like to meet you, you seem very knowledgeable, but I'm not driving to Temecula lol. I think your posts may come across as condescending or negative, but I guess the point of these forums is to share opinions and insights and some people may be easily offended or disagree. To each his own.

Question for you- do you really think LAG and GS develop players more, or simply have more top level talent? Ive seen a number of each of their games, and LAG seems to play a more tactical and well coached game, but a lot of Academy teams as well as CSL Premier, SCDSL Champions F1 and Europa teams do as well. Ultimately it seems the teams that play a more well rounded game, win because they play that way, are consistent, perhaps physically dominant to some extent, AND ALSO have more talent across the field, as well as depth. TFA, seems to possess that mix, and Pats LA seems to be getting to that level as well.
Cheers

Los Angeles getting represented hard!

3-Teams from Los Angeles County
1-Team from Orange County

IE, San Bernardino, San Diego, Ventura and Santa Barbara are all out.

Sorry, forgot to mention where the teams battle it out. By the looks of it, having both teams on one side doesn’t work very well....

3 Coast Soccer League
1 Scdsl
0 Presidio

Pats LA had very weak offense during the SCDSL season. Only averaged barely a goal game. D was solid though. I'm wondering if they merged with the other SCDSL Tier 2 team for Nationals? To mop up SB 4 to 0 is shocking. Rangers getting this far is surprising as well. Team is not that strong. They have Johnny up top who always manages to score ugly goals. Looking like LAUFA vs Pats LA in Finals. #10 on LAUFA is a force to be reckoned with and a game changer...

There was an earlier post re: the 'Death Bracket' for Round 2 which was spot on ... LAUFA and TFA 2 of 4 teams still standing.

Per their director they added several kids from a Santa Clarita non Pats team that are difference makers, thus more goal output. They do some things at this age that one rarely sees and that has resulted in some key goals each game.

The Ranger team is clicking at the right time. Their forward can finish and they press very well. This tournament is all about timing but they will have a tough time vs LAUFA.

Are the new difference makers for LAUFA new adds or the dropping of academy players in anticipation for the 2003/2002 DA group? #10 is one of the best i've seen at the age.

The competition in the NON DA leagues will be crazy next season as many of the top 03 players will spend a year with the non DA teams waiting their turn to get back in the DA circuit

I have to agree with revolted! But with his prediction track record, I would not gamble with you in Vegas.
In the other hand, Buddha man is right on, I woluld gamble with him (Card counter).

To be honest... I was betting all favorites based on rankings, recent record/scores in CRL/League games etc... The teams that are still involved (aside from LAUFA) stepped up and were upsets in my book. I'm a betting man and I deeply follow the B03's. What is sad if you look deeper is several of those Round 1 CRL "Bye" teams ended up in last place in Round 2. Structuring the "Byes" for Round 1 based on 'being' in the CRL was obviously NOT the "Best" batch of 12 teams. CalSouth should reconsider the way they structure their "Byes" for next year's Nationals and award Byes to more deserving teams... Maybe start with a balance of the top teams from the Coast Premiere season, SCDSL season AND CRL leagues combined.

Revolted, appreciate your honesty and I cannot research as well as others.

Can I ask if anyone has done the research on the 4 teams on their previous game match ups in season or tournaments?

Does anyone know the teams well enough to see if they have the same players through the year or just beefed up with new players to play in NC?

The very old question re-appears, what team is developing or who’s recycling layers until there mojo runs out.

I’m trying out on different teams right now and the largest sell point is how good their other teams done in the season. The way I look at it, maybe not good enough to play in those teams, but sure want my money and they keep dangling that Carrot until roster freeze.

3 of the 4 teams are from Coast Premier as well as CRL so it's easy to compare recent match ups. Here's a handy ranking site I use which lists team history:

Pats LA could be the sleeper due to their recent makeover. Chance of them playing the other 3 teams is possible but I wouldn't put too much weight into that analysis since it's now a different team than the Season team from SCDSL.
When selecting a new team consider your playing time vs the caliber of the team. If you're riding the pine more than actual playing time you should consider dropping down to a lower level or lower rated team...

PATS-LA have lost to TFA last three times. We played them in 2017 Man City Cup last year, lost 0-2. We have a better team now though I think. Several players had a 1st season of HS Varisty, which made them tougher. Gained 2 players, 1 FWD, 1 Def, gave us more speed and power. We had 3 major injuries last year, 2 of the 3 are back.

Think LAUFA is winning.

TFA is winning 2-0, mistake goal and PK just like the last time we played. They are beating are boys to ball in 2nd half. FINAL
