National Cup 2017

Well this took an odd turn...

Anyway... good luck everyone this weekend! I really am looking forward to our girls playing the top teams. I know they have a tough weekend ahead of them. My kid is very excited to get back at it.

So will they have to forfeit all their wins this past season?

Well if they did forfeit all their wins then that would put Eagles #1 in Coast league since their only loss was to TFA and that being reversed to a win would leap frog them to the top. Too bad this kind of stuff is still tarnishing club soccer and the teams/kids that are doing it right.

He's in ignore- don't worry about him. He's the self righteous internet police lol. Your little group seems a tad too obsessed with certain ones of us . Get a life

Can I laugh? o_O

Some parents quick to judje a great coach. I didn't see these same parents at the Coast league quarter final complaining too much about unfairness?? Socal Academy vs Santa Monica Utd ring a bell?

Maybe these same parents can tell us what happened and how Santa Monica Untd won that game fare and square? Oh wait, they're too busy celebrating their win! Wait, did they win? :D

Let's keep it fair if you're going to bash!

Might be time to retire this thread and start a clean one for National Cup. In the meantime, there's no excuse for critiquing the abilities of kids who are still learning (and, hopefully, enjoying) the game. Judging professional players from our couches can be a hard habit to break, and we've all been guilty of doing it with youth sports at some point, but sideline commentary during a game, while not ideal, is different than anonymous, insulting posts to a large community.

On that note, while nothing excused the personal attacks re: one poster's daughter, hyping your own 12-13 year old as an "A-lister" seems like opening yourself up to a jab around here. It would be great if no one threw the punch -- the poster, and especially his daughter, didn't deserve it -- but it's not shocking when someone does.

The A-listers will be sorted out over time -- and not by their parents. There are very, very few of them; it's possible none of us know any of them right now. But hopefully all of our girls will grow up happy and confident and still loving the game, at whatever level they participate.

I agree with KJR.

While I agree playing older players is about as bad as it gets and the TFA coach is not looking too good this thread is supposed to be about National Cup.

I guess TFA 05 Southeast is back under a new name. And they are in National cup. They are now Southwest SC g05 in Pico Rivera
That's good to hear. It good for the legit 05's on that team. They shouldn't be punished because their coach was a jerk.

It says the Southwest coach is Frank Lopez, so I don't know what's going on there. Did the team go with him to another club? Hard to imagine he put a new team together that could get into National Cup at the last minute. But it's the same guy everyone seemed to have a problem with, whether he was cheating or not.
